Javier Tebas named to UEFA's Executive Committee

Incredible. Tebas is a public supporter of Far Right groups in Spain. He has presided over a league that has been brought to its knees by corruption and fraud investigations at its leading clubs (Barcelona and Real Madrid) and seen some players and club directors jailed for match fixing (Real Betis). He has also faced corruption allegations relating to his son's ownership of football clubs in Spain.
These are just the sort of things you need on your CV to become a member of the UEFA Exec Committee. Will the English press continue to endorse all his public comments without any sense of scrutiny or balance?
I don't think a League that appoints Mr Riley as it's chief of refs and var? can see anything wrong with Mr T s appointment.

Fantastic! They are destroying each other.

BBC Sport.

Real Madrid will launch lawsuits over a deal that will see a private equity company get a 10% share of future La Liga television rights.

The club will begin civil and criminal action against La Liga president Javier Tebas and CVC Capital Partners' chief Javier de Jaime Guijarro.

La Liga said clubs could vote on the 2.7bn euro (£2.3bn) deal on 12 August.

But Real Madrid said it would take "any appropriate legal action" to nullify any agreements reached.

La Liga said Real Madrid were using "coercive and threatening" methods to stop clubs having their say on the deal.

CVC are a US private equity fund registered in Luxembourg. You may remeber them buying a big chunk of Formula One. Big rows followed that too. Dont know if they still own any of it.
Their investors are institutional such as pension funds etc.
