Of the players that were available this summer, or playing at a club weak enough that we could force the issue:

Lukaku. That's it. He and the other two mentioned. All the others good enough wouldn't have been available to us. Admittedly I don't know every striker in Europe, but of the ones I've seen enough of to really rate those three stand way above the rest. If you count them as strikers then obviously Messi and Mbappé would be included too.



Calvert Lewin might be a very good player one day. I actually like him. But right now he's not top of Europe quality. And we're not in the market for potential this summer.

Next summer is too far away. We'll have to deal with the implications of what could happen over season if we fail to sign a 9 this window. And they're not minor implications, if last game was any indication.

I agree with you. The issue is we have no alternatives, it's Kane or bust and Kane has 3 years left on his deal and the window shuts in 2 weeks. The cards are simply not stacked in our favour. As much as I'd love a striker now, we decided to not pursue either Messi or Lukaku, this is the risk you run by only prioritising one striker who plays for a club not particularly willing to sell to a rival.

If the price of Kane is 150m+, I'd honestly want City to wait a year and make the smart choice not the desperate one.

I hope we get Kane but not at silly money. Aubameyang is 32 playing in a really poor Arsenal team and seems to have lost his desire to perform there. Arteta should have stayed at City until Pep left as the Arsenal project is beyond him.
The likes of Haaland and Mbappe are few and far between,superb forwards at a young age. If we dont get Harry, then I agree Aubameyang would be a better prospect for us than Cavani has been at United. As for comments about Delap being only 18. Haaland and Mbappe were given a chance at tender ages. If I remember Rashford was given a chance at the rags as at the time they were in dire straits with forwards.Edozie could equally be one of those who blossoms at an early age, much like Sancho.Some youngsters just click when given a chance.
