Taking my Dad tomorrow he is 76 and first watched us age 5. Been to a game every single season since and missed only a handful of games in the 70s and 80s and he has been to over 2000 games in total following City. He is really starting to struggle and needs new knees, his eyes are failing and his heart is not amazing and his mind not what it was but he just said to me I can’t wait for tomorrow. Taking him for the full works - meal etc and will make it a special day for him. Can’t fucking wait!

I applaud and envy you. It reminds me of my dad who I lost last year at age 82. He was a lifelong supporter and season ticket holder but the dreaded dementia and Parkinson’s sadly took him. As another lifelong blue myself (ex Platt Lane and Kippax season ticket holder) I loved going to the games with him, and still greatly miss it since I moved to the States 30 years ago. Each time I would make it home, I would make every effort to spend as much time as possible with him, so can fully relate and really hope you have a great day and many more to come.
 
Weather report: Rain! Locally heavy from 1pm to 9pm. But who cares about Summer rain. Nice and refreshing and good for Raheem and Jesus. Suits small fast forwards with a low centre of mass.

Bring it on! Nothing will dampen the spirits today.

Would be nice to see a CM 3 of Bernardo, Gundogan and Rodri again (not sure we will though). It was that combination that saw us at our best last season. Grealish wide left, Sterling or Mahrez on the right and Torres or Jesus up top.

Back 4 of Walker, Stones, Dias and Zinchenko.

Grealish looked ok vs Spurs but took up lots of positions that hindered our play. We’re not the sort of side that you just slot in.
 
I am actually worried about this game. I think we are still not ready and lot of rusty players in the squad! We might just get over the line with this one or even draw!

August is going to be fun!
 
I am haunted by memories of the Pearce era. How are we going to score ever again?
Our 3 main rivals had no trouble scoring last weekend.
If Norwich score, even just once, I'll be very worried.

Excellent stuff, we're really good at this sort of thing, there's other threads for what we're not good at behind the scenes so I'll not go there.

I posted last season about the Everton game, walking over JMW I could hear blues singing in the distance, brought a little tear to my eye.

Hopefully everyone will enjoy today with less stress that we think just getting in.

We can ignore the spurs game as we obviously weren't ready for 90 mins but good for half a hour.

I'm expecting more today....Come On City!!!!!!
 
What an amazing feeling waking up knowing it’s match day. First time in 19 long months I’ll be there. Cannot wait
