Seasoncard - 2021/22

Make sure you charge your phones!

It's going to be fun today. I bet loads of people insert their phone in the reader trying to scan the code. I've never used Google Pay before but apparently you just select your ticket and then hold the phone near the reader. Sounds simple! Nice video on Man City Tickets that shows you what you need to do with your ticket.

Charging my Nokia 3310 now mate, the battery’s normally quite good.

Have the club got charging points for phones around the stadium in the event phones die?? It’s not like they’ve had time to prepare for such things now is it? Obviously 18 months isn’t long enough.

The lack of foresight by the club is lamentable.
Don't know. Mobile ticketing works on trains so I am sure it will work here.

I think I am going to go down a little earlier than usual. If I get their early I might have a look for this new concert venue. Not sure if there is much to see. Looking forward to seeing the general area and what has changed.

I think they do but ideally to be used as a last resort.

Actually I looked on mobile tickets info on the web site and they do have mobile charging devices. Limited in number.

We shall see.

If you’re worried about battery life I’d recommend getting a little battery bank or charging case or something.

They aren’t expensive and it’ll save the faff of standing at a ‘charging pod’ in the pissing rain.

Everton (and possibly Liverpool) have implemented similar new systems but rather sensibly allowed fans to have a physical card for a small fee (£5). A very sensible idea that allows people to upgrade phones and get used to the system over the course of the season.

All the games I saw on telly last week seemed to have pretty full stadiums. Hope we get a similar good turn out tomorrow.
Yea we should have kept the option of season cards.

Regarding the crowd today, we will have a very big support as usual. Of course there will be empties like there were plenty at Old Trafford last week. Once the Club offered season card referrals (for good reasons) that was inevitable. It’s virtually impossible to sell several / many thousands of single tickets because friends and family like to sit together. In its way, that’s a positive of the flexibility shown to season card holders.

We sold out the Norwich returns (I think there are about 50 seats left in what was their end). That shows you the demand. Not many clubs will sell out returned visiting supporters tickets.

I like that season ticket holders can sell their tickets. Makes it difficult to sell out but better for fans and you get more bums on seats.

I think it was on your advice or could have been someone else’s a few days ago that I did just that and you are right it is small and compact. I also bought a little case to store it and the cable. Not much bigger than a mobile phone. It seems ok. We shall see.
:-)

Not many of the Norwich returned tickets left which confirms if the club price them correctly they will sell quickly.
Seems there are still a couple of thousand available which are probably season ticket exchanges.

Yes, but let’s slag them off anyway without getting an answer to the question.

If you have downloaded you can’t print it. Why have you downloaded to two devices? Is that potentially going to cause issues? I would not delete it though until you see which one works!

Hope your health is better now pal.

Cheers pal.
I was just checking that you can’t print it still. For a Ryanair flight ticket you can have it in your wallet AND print it (or you could do 2 years ago) and use either, so I printed flight tickets as backup. (Dunno if that system works if NFC or just QR code).

I added it to another phone wallet for ‘just in case’ and also because transfer to f&f was not available until Wednesday (?). I might not be able to make the Arsenal game and I can give the spare phone to my mate who can pass it to whichever family member is pulled out of the hat (and doesn’t have an account). (it’s all locked in any case- no SIM, they can only update on my home WiFi without passcode). Otherwise I’ll end up with a list of his family as long as my arm in my account.

It’s easier and seems to be working in parallel, it should accept whichever phone is scanned first. I’m taking the spare, switched off, just in case doing this has made the pass in my normal phone invalid.

I only have the one pass in both wallets.

(Apologies for the long winded msg).

Some rag on my Facebook feed who’s a vague work acquaintance was gloating about this, sharing screenshots of how many unsold tickets we’ve got.

I just unfriended the sad ****.

Spot on Marvin.

Btw I’m at the ground and there is hardly any queue for the ticket office. Hopefully, the vast majority of fans have had any queries resolved

You never waved to me Tim! It’s getting cold here at entrance P and they’ve made me pack away my camping gear! Gotta find a place to hide it because I’m almost certain they won’t let me take it in the ground! ;-)
