No idea. For £70m though I'd expect somebody who has got a few seasons of consistently good performances & goal returns under his belt at the very least. So who do you suggest and for how much?

Delap would be great if he can get a run of games - which he can't.
There's a reason why players like Sancho goto other clubs, get game time and end up as world beaters.
Get Delap, put faith in him and play him consistently; that's what Athletico and Dortmund make there business.
Watched a few clips of him (I know I know!) & the lad looks OK, but nothing more.Well, I’m in that tiny percentage who watched him multiple times last season and cannot believe we’d go for him. Nothing against the lad but just not for us.
Watched a fair bit of Fiorentina last season, and while his game improved as the season wore on, for me he remains incredibly raw. It should be acknowledged that the club was a bit topsy turvy, in terms of management changes, but he played more games than anyone and was very much the focal point.I understand your perspective.
I quite like the look of the lad. I’d like us to have a lanky striker again, we’ve not had one of those since Dzeko and I miss ‘em, but I have concerns about his ball retention because his passing stats are not so good to say the least.
Also, judging only from his youtube highlights (you’ve seen full games so you’ll know better and please interject if I’m wide of the mark), he seems to only perform in counter attacks or in open or loose play. Nothing shows him slipping effortlessly through a low block to slot home and, if he plays for us, he’ll face a low block most of the time.
Those are the reasons that I don’t think we’ll go for him. However, if we do put a bid in then it’s because Pep thinks he can get a tune out of the lad and, that being the case, I’ll be excited at the prospect.
I've only seen him on Youtube, but for me he doesn't seem to have the technical ability of most of our players. Scoring over 20 goals is impressive for a 21 year-old, but the quoted price is ridiculous off the back of one good season.Watched a fair bit of Fiorentina last season, and while his game improved as the season wore on, for me he remains incredibly raw. I think in terms of his play you describe him quite well, his touch and passing can be loose, and as well his goals he can have some howling misses. In terms of character, however, he never hides and seems to have incredible self-belief and a drive to succeed, which are things strikers need more than most.
I would still prefer someone who is more naturally predatory and more clinical, someone who instinctively gets into goalscoring positions in the box and can finish one on one, so while that could yet be Vlahovic, it would take some time.
Oi you said no more questions, but finished with 3 question marks, fucking harassment of a dead shit wigged former chairmanOK, I won't ask you any more questions...wtf???
The wtf??? was for others...now I'll ask you another question...have you been hitting the glass pipe?Oi you said no more questions, but finished with 3 question marks, fucking harassment of a dead shit wigged former chairman
Yeah that's a good counter point, but also maybe sometimes it's a case of us being the team that elevates the player to their potential. Not really. By the time Dortmund signed Lewandowski he'd scored 9 goals for Poland and 32 goals in 58 games for Poznan (Including 6 goals in 16 EUFA cup appearances). Dortmund signed him for 4.5m Euros.
Suarez had scored 10 goals in 27 appearances at Nacional, then scored 10 goals in 28 appearances at Groningen before Ajax bought him for 7.5m Euros.
My first argument against is that 4.5m and 7.5m Euros are nothing like the £60m+ that would be required to by this lad (even accounting for 'football inflation' - which is a crap metric). If we were gonna sign this lad for £20m I'd feel a bit better about it, but £60m get's you a Bernardo Silva in this market.
My second point is that we are in no way similar to Dortmund or Ajax. We are the best club in the world. We don't need to take risks on young players. We have the financial capability to buy established players who can guarantee goals. If we follow a Dortmund or Ajax type transfer policy, we stay at the top.
...and you still probably know more than most on this thread!I answered your question about Dias, now you’re asking me what people all over Europe think about Vlahovic, how the fuck would I know, I am a dead former chairman
I’ll stick a glass pipe up your fucking arse you cheeky disrespectful mother fucking clown . As you wereThe wtf??? was for others...now I'll ask you another question...have you been hitting the glass pipe?
Where some people get their fetishes from is beyond meI’ll stick a glass pipe up your fucking arse you cheeky disrespectful mother fucking clown . As you were
I can see this happening
He plays exactly like Haaland but he’s better lookingI can’t see it happening because I don’t think he’s shown enough to be worth the suggested asking price and, I’ve not seen anything to demonstrate that he‘s effective against a packed / low block defence - which is what he’d mostly face if he played for us.
However, I like his lankiness and his commitment and, if it does happen, I’ll be excited because it means that Pep thinks he can make him fit into a system like ours . . I don’t see how he can that but I’d love to be shown how.
I won’t argue re better looking and, yes, he knocks them in for fun, but his pass completion is in the 60+%s, not great for possession football, and all his goals seem to be on the break or developed from open play.He plays exactly like Haaland but he’s better looking
