The Conservative Party

It's a long way from done at the moment, but it did seem to be a curious mix of promise and prediction - I thought he said that care and health were to be combined in due course.

I did laugh when he said it was important to pay the health/care staff properly. Increasing their tax is an interesting way to achieve it.

It's not what he said, but if he thinks we had "old pounds" I'd be sceptical of anything he "remenbers".
I still think of them as "old pounds" compared with this new-fangled decimalisation thingy, and the figures I quoted in my posting are 100% accurate. I've worked with figures all my adult life, and can still remember my salaries in 1981 and 1991 as well. It does help that my "A" levels were Mathematics and Further Mathematics (or sums and more sums as I like to call them).
Oh, and I can remember matches and goals from the 60s and 70s as well, as I have mentioned in many a posting on this site.
Not all of us have poor memories, I'm pleased to say.

So, to summarise. Most of the increase is to plug a financial hole in the NHS rather than social care. Idea is that once this ‘hole is plugged’, the revenue then switches to social care. Which probably means ‘never’.

Tax increase is 2.5% split between employees and employers. Pension triplelock scrapped next year, for one year only - doubtful you will see it return.

Public sector revenue of GDP at it's highest share for years.

Full details still to be published.

And UC to be cut by £20 a week.
Wonder how much of that NHS money goes directly to Tory Donors running NHS services on their behalf?

Fucking farce, laugh away Boris while we pay care workers shit money and fuck up people who get fuck all because they don’t make the criteria for critical care.

Nhs back log to be reduced before election time, will the great British public fall for it again? More then likely.

Spot on.
Your first paragraph sums it all up.
Anyone who believes that after the initial three years money will be taken off the NHS and put into social care is living in cloud cuckoo land.
The phrases 'smoke and mirrors', 'sticking plaster' and 'sleight of hand' come to mind.
Did you expect anything different from the Nasty Party??

Punishing working people for the extravagancies of the now retired who demand we prop them up ad infinitum.

How Conservative. Where's the rich person's pension tax and the Corporation Tax increase to pay for it?

Working people punished again.

Am I reading this right, we are now going to tax pensioners as well? Is this from state pension or private pension? You know what I’ll tell my kid to save fuck all for her future now, she can have what I leave her and blow the fucking lot as she will have to work until she dies anyway.
I thought pensioners already paid tax If they got over a certain amount due to having private pensions

Struggling a bit with this 86k cap rule.
Once you've reached your limit, who pays for your ongoing care and what standard of ongoing care are you entitled to - is it the most expensive care home you can find or do you have to go into a local authority home?

National Insurance drops from 12% to 2% if you earn over £50,268/year. Raising it, while taking up to £1,000 off of those on Universal Credit, this will hit the lowest earners the most.
earn £184 p/w - 12% take home £161
earn £967 p/w - 2% take home £947
Disgusting.

What do you think?
I am looking for a nursing home for a relative now.
First question they ask is are you self financed?
If yes they all had places.
Nothing below £1700 a week.

So, once they’ve sorted the NHS without the money that they promised during the Brexit debate, instead caning the down-trodden once again, are we going to see a phased stealth sell off to the the private sector once everything looks rosey?
