No chance. Headline will be ‘Raducanu earns $2.5 Million for 3 weeks work.....only beaten by Ronaldo at $4 Million per month’.congratulations and keeps Ronaldo off the front and back pages.....thank you Emma
Hopefully this is the start of the Murray legacy. British players who are going to win Grand Slams. Belief in themselves. Wimbledon is her main aim now.
I was thinking I didn't even know who was in it.Haha…just realised the tournament hasn’t finished & the Men’s final is tomorrow…and even as a tennis fan I’ll probably not watch it.
Tracy Austin, Swiss Miss Hingis was 16yo Becker 17yoTwo 18yr old tennis lasses in the US Open final showing that quality and fitness and strength and resilience. Great to see, but at what age must they identify talent and coach it like that? Great to see, but these girls can't have known anything other than training, nutrition, discipline etc all their young lives. Were champions this young when we were young?
Not sure what you watched but her first words were congratulations to Emma. She didn’t even congratulate her opponent. Very poor
The first year of the Open Era I think. Was that in the 'Open Era'?
Edit: Seems like it was.
Said the exact same thing to the wife. The reduction in power off the serve results in a more intriguing battle of skill.I’m admittedly a bit of a fairweather tennis fan but watching that today reminded me just how good women’s tennis is at the top level. The long rallies are so much more enjoyable than watching the men play.

Another feat has gone unrecognised at the US Open.
Joe Salisbury has become the first Briton to win two doubles titles at a Grand Slam in the Open era after claiming the mixed doubles title at the US Open a day after winning the men's doubles.
Quite the tournament for us this year lol.
Yeah good point. When Becker won I was a kid watching a grown up win Wimbledon. But he wasnt I suppose. He was about 7yrs older than me but light years ahead. Good pointTracy Austin, Swiss Miss Hingis was 16yo Becker 17yo
I think I saw the fee from Channel 4 to Amazon will go to the LTA to fund junior tennisBrilliant.
I have to say quite a coup for channel 4 to get it for those that don’t have Amazon Prime but good advertising for them too. Win win for all I’d say.
