They’re so well matched. Whoever is timing the ball slightly better wins the point.

Sinner needs to keep away from Alcaraz’s forehand more too.

Well deserved final for Alcaraz.

After having just arrived in Manchester, I didn't mind tonight's delay as much. First time watching the coverage this 2nd week on Sky, so it was a different perspective for sure.

The "New 2" are alive and well. Until the next one, where Alcaraz would certainly like to win in Australia and Sinner in the French, both the only the Major Slam trophies they don't yet own. I'm sure they both will before it's all over at this rate.

Congrats to Sabalenka too yesterday. As much as I wanted Anisimova to win, I agree she didn't have the consistency with the unforced errors every time she seemed to be ready to take things over. Sabalenka often had the answer unlike times past.

A disturbed night on Saturday and medication meant that I was falling asleep by the end of the first game. Such a shame as with the relatively early start, I was looking forward to watching at least the first two sets.

Two Grand Slams each for the second year in succession. Alcaraz and Sinner are so far ahead of the pack that, barring injury, I can see this happening for the next few years. It's going to take a special player to get past both of them in a tournament of 5-set matches.

Two great players but Alcaraz has more to his game, and a higher ceiling, IMO.
I do hope that Donald will give up attending sporting events as his 'popularity' continues to collapse.

I fancy Jannik Sinner for the APT final tonite, hope I’m wrong because I want Carlos Alcaraz to win, I can’t believe I’m not watching the football but fcuk England ;)

You were right.
Some of the tennis was incredible. Both players show tremendous respect for each other and compliment the opponent when a great shot has been played

Seems to be a genuine friendship alongside respect. The darts is in a similar place with the top 2 so far ahead, both getting along & pushing each other to new heights.

Bump to the thread here with the AO going on. I'm usually so behind in watching live given most happens overnight in the US, but I've caught up from the first round play after seeing most matches well delayed from when they actually happen.

New 2 in Men's look to be clear favourites while I can hope someone can take down Sabalenka. Keys looked full of nerves in her first match defending the crown, but kudos to Oleksandra Oliynykova from Ukraine who played a very inspired and tricky game of tennis in the first round with some impressive speed. I found that one especially enjoyable to watch from both player's standpoints.

Sad to see Gaël Monfils go out in the first round, but he's had an impressive 20 year career of appearances at the AO. Hopefully Stan Wawrinka can have a good run on his last AO as well.

We decided against shelling out for a TV pass for matches that we mostly won't be able to see. Plus we'll be away the weekend of the final anyway.

No doubt it will be another Alcaraz v Sinner final.
