Strong team here please. Some of the suggestions I've seen make it look like people think we're playing some German 2nd division side, reality is we're probably going to need our best XI to beat them, and if we don't it will make a tough group even harder.

Ederson
Walker
Dias
Aké (Laporte or Stones if available)
Cancelo
Fernandinho (happy with Rodri too)
Gundogan
Bernardo
Foden (or Grealish)
Torres
Jesus

Fairly sure these are a heavy pressing side so Jesus and Bernardo are a must.

There's been a surge on tickets this afternoon, at least according to the website, and given some people will be buying them at the game, it might be closer to a sell out than I thought it would be. Certainly no worse than a typical CL game, whereas I was dreading some of the stick we were going to get with whole sections of the ground empty, which is what it looked like it might even 3 or 4 days ago.

The logic is that if you make your opponents weaker, year after year, you don’t need to hunt around Europe to pay huge transfer fees, which seems to go against the sporting integrity argument they like to use against City, amongst others.
They have, of course, been architects of a system that has given Germany the same league winner for 9 consecutive seasons, for 16 seasons in the last 20, and for 30 seasons since their second title in 1969. Doesn't seem to work like a model for sustained sporting competition, would be my major complaint.

I don't even mind that, it's each to their own. If only they would mind their own business though.
