The forgotten few

Steve Fleet (reserve keeper), Mike Batty (reserve centre-half), Geoff Chadwick, (reserve wing-half), Paul Aimson (reserve centre-forward) made a handful of first team appearances between them but we’re regulars for the reserves when my mates and I used to go to watch them at Maine Road in the very early 60s. Ah, those were the days!
I think you are referring to Graham Chadwick. He played 12 times for City between 1962 and 1964. I saw him play quite a few games with the reserves.

From the same era for City Reserves was Derek Hodgkinson who played one Second Division game and one League Cup game for City and scored one, never to be seen again. At least not until he moved on to Stockport and later Macclesfield.

First ever derby I went to at The Swamp in the early 80s seem to recall we had a fella called Gary Jackson (?) playing. Don't think I ever saw him play for us again.
You weren’t imagining things.

Six starts and a further two sub appearances in 81-82, before joining Exeter City on a free, where he played for a couple of years before moving to a club in Belgium. His career was cut short by injury. Apparently now owns a car dealership in Swinton, GJ Motors

Some of the random Scottish players during Billy McNeill’s time seemed to come and go without really registering in the collective blue consciousness. Dom Sullivan, Duncan Davidson, Gordon Dalziel and Ken McNaught
