The forgotten few

I think you are referring to Graham Chadwick. He played 12 times for City between 1962 and 1964. I saw him play quite a few games with the reserves.

From the same era for City Reserves was Derek Hodgkinson who played one Second Division game and one League Cup game for City and scored one, never to be seen again. At least not until he moved on to Stockport and later Macclesfield.
Graham Chadwick had a great career in non league with Stafford Rangers. Was captain in 1972 when they won the FA Trophy at Wembley and the Northern Premier League.

Barry Siddall, goalkeeper. He looked like a bricklayer. Would have been around the latter days of Alex Williams(Maybe even Corrigan?) For some reason I thought he played a full season. Only played a handful of games for us.

Took over in 86/87 end of season when Eric Nixon needed time out.. Looked like John Peel.......
Him and John Burridge - check their records out. Must have had 50 clubs between them

Although l can't remember where l put my keys last night l have a clear recollections of getting a programme for a penny for a reserve match in the very early 60s. We got them for the tokens for the big matches that never came. The team sheet on s single sheet of paper showed
4. CHADWICK (G)
We had never heard of him before and I don't recall anything else about him other than his initial being given at all and in brackets.
Mine of useful information, that's me.

Ralph Brand. 65/67 - 20 apps. Signed from Rangers.
My dad's 70 year old mate a rag with good football knowledge (extremely rare I know) mentioned him a couple weeks back, although primarily a rag his parents are Scottish so he's a Rangers fan too and would watch them with his uncle when in Scotland .

He mentioned how good he was and that he joined us but he couldn't remember him here after the move, so checked his record great for Rangers did well for Scotland but never happened here for whatever reason.

Mike Quigley
My Nanna's long-term partner before her death is from Ireland we haven't talked much since my Nan's death, his name is Eddy short for Edmund and he was actually meant to be Mike Quigley's uncle but he was estranged from his sister Quigley's mum I think or so I'm told.

I'm not sure where Eddy was from in Ireland but you honestly couldn't understand him, made Willo Flood or Brad Pitt in Snatch seem very understandable... Took me years and even then I'd miss every other word he'd need to repeat himself a lot.

He had a shot like a mule, remember he scored against Derby County at Maine Road, night match around 1974. Did we get him from Hyde United?

He played in the first game I ever attended, Wolves at home 74. It’s odd because I didn’t take much notice of him as I must have been starstruck seeing Bell, Marsh and Tueart for the first time.
