TV Series

No its not,but i think the days of protecting kids from outside influence, while allowing them a proper childhood, are long gone.

Society is a mess,we live in a shithole.
You’re not wrong. Cheers, think I will hold off letting him watch it based on what a few people have said, sounds totally inappropriate.

I'm not taken by Sci-Fi too much as they ultimately let you down, but 'Foundation' has an amazing feel to it. Not just in visuals, but the overarching storyline, which seems epic!

It kind of reminds me of the 'movie' excerpts in sci-fi games put together amazingly well!

They've spent BIG money on this show and it shows! 3 eps out, so far...
Just reading the reviews on IMDB and it seems you are fairly unique in your opinion. Most are claiming its been given the WOKE treatment, and has been ruined as a result of such bollocks(or lack of in this case)
I'm going to make my own mind up.....as I'm further reading there may be hope for those who haven't read the source material.

Well, yes, you should make your own mind up.

I haven't read the source material and have been viewing it as it is. There are book snobs that will always complain when something isn't skin tight to the source.

They seem to forget times and attitudes change. Asimov is dead for Pete's sakes!

Not you, FI, but those 'opinions' are all over the place just lately!

If there's more coming then it's not all out then is it? Still episodes being released weekly so I'll hang fire for now.

Sorry, that meant to say no more coming. It was cancelled a while ago.

EDIT. And a big edit at that.

I was talking about thebwrong tv show.

I thought the question was about The Last Man on Earth, and just referred to as last man for speed. Didnt realize there was another with a similar name.

So basically, ignore everything I said. Unless itnis about the other show, on prime.

Just finished series 4 of Snowfall. Excellent TV. It is based on the true story of how the US Gov imported cocaine into the US in order to fund their illegal war in Nicaragua. The series follows the main protagonist who discovered how to turn cocaine into crack to fake it affordable for the black population in LA.

All 4 series are available on iPlayer

Ha, I had to Google The Last man on Earth as you'd totally lost me, Wiki had the following at the top:-

Not to be confused with Y: The Last Man (TV series).
For other uses, see The Last Man on Earth.

Yeah sorry.

The last man on earth is not bad. Decent comedy with funny bits and just weird bits. Watching it at the peak of the pandemic was a bit surreal. Never seen Y Thr Last Man.

Glad to see it was just a misunderstanding and hope the tone of my reply didn't cause offence as it was only meant as a friendly jibe.

Alone - Season 8 - I watched on Amazon Prime. I very much enjoy this show. For those unfamiliar, it's a wilderness survival competition among 10 contestants, each dropped off alone, and far apart from other contestants in the same wilderness area with few provisions (10 items are allowed) - left to survive as long as they can without outside help.

Contestants self-film themselves with 2 (more?) cameras which they are required to use to document their ordeal.

From time-to-time medical checkups on the contestants are conducted - and those in danger of permanent harm are disqualified and removed to safety.

And in case of emergency - or just wanting to quit - each contestant is given a remote phone device which they can use to "tap out" - following which they'll be evacuated back to base camp.

The last contestant remaining in the wilderness is awarded a very large prize - 0.5 million dollars in season 8.

I liked most of the contestants in Season 8 - one was an egomaniac asshole though. I'll stop with my remarks here as any more would tend to spoil some part of the ending.
