Erling Haaland

They are clearing the decks for a new generation.

Varane and Ramos were big earners, Bezema, Modric and Marcelo are also in the twilight of their careers.

Ronaldo's wages have been removed for two seasons and this is still a club that thought nothing of buying Zidane and Figo!

Madrid have always been about making statements, even one that saw a diminishing Hazard join for £120m.

It's shit or bust for them next summer because if they don't try and go big, they will be dead in the water for the next decade.

Totally agree with that, but my point is, do you think Madrid would go and spend that much in one position especially after Benzema signed a new deal last summer when they need to replace a whole bunch of other players?

They're going to need a left-back unless they move Alaba out there, meaning they need 2 new Center backs, plus a couple of midfielders, let's say they get Pogba on the free, he's getting 350K a week minimum, plus another 500K to Mbappe, and they still haven't spent on defenders yet, I just can't see where Haaland fits in that equation for them.

They would sign Haaland and Mbappe just to prove a point. They would comfortable dominate domestically and CL is always a lottery but they have a good keeper, decent defenders, decent midfielders and enough fire power up front to challenge. Just signed Alaba and Camavinga and they have talents like Rodrygo and Vinicius. I dont think Ancelotti is going to do much, just steady the ship for now until they work out what they want long term.

They would likely just sell Jovic, Mariano and people like that to fund a signing like Pau Torres etc to bolster the defence.

Benzema has just signed a new deal and is the main man and has been since Ronaldo left he’s also scoring more goals than ever before.. not a chance they bring both mbappe and haaland in it’s just not gunna happen to have 3 of the best number 9s all in the same team

Mbappe is the one they want who will probably play to the left of benzema with the French connection then in a few years time he will take over the 9 spot more than likely playing along side Rodrygo and Vinicius who they same to have a lot of faith in and invested a lot of time and money

Fuck knows where haaland will end up but I really don’t see it being Real Madrid for many reasons

Benzema is nearly as old as Ronaldo and Messi. He will need replacing soon.

I don't think either halaand not mbappe would want to be in the same team together. They both want to be the main man. Mbappe is already nailed on to Madrid leaving everyone else fighting for halaand. PSG have Messi, he's not going there (it's why mbappe is leaving). Will halaand really want to go to the circus that is man u#d? It's down to us paying what raiola wants. Will we do it however?

What about Bayern?

That’s what I’ve just said mate mbappe will be his replacement but will play alongside him for a couple of years

benzema seems to be like lewandowski where he’s just getting better with age and the added responsibility

8 games in la liga this season
9 goals and 7 assists and that’s in a poor Madrid side

that’s fucking unbelievable

That's not in question.

What is was why Pep wanted Kane over Haaland. Knowledge is power and City must know Haaland's position.

My argument is that if Haaland doesn't want to know, then Kane remains the best, attainable target.
I've got to agree mate, there is no way we pay £130m for Kane as that money would have gone on Haaland if he wanted City
Dortmund would have taken that money imo
Haaland was always going to sit another season at Dortmund its worth million more to sign on & more wages with the 60m saved in transfer fee imo

I think Real sign Mbappa if not both or Bayern snap Haaland up

Kane will be chased in January imo & Sterling could be off to Arsenal?

We have 4 jobs to do before end of January
Berny new 5 year deal
Laporte new 5 year deal
Kane signs
Sterling sold

All the numbers join up, sadly, for Madrid, as you say.

Having had £171m rejected for Mbappe this summer, they can afford to now take him on a free, pay £70m buyout for Haaland, and use the other £100m in signing fees/wages for both.
We still have the Kane fee which would more or less cover the buy-out and agents fee's.

Kane is absolutely worth it, you only had to see his brilliant presence of mind to try and chip the goalkeeper from the halfway line against Villa at the weekend.

He's in an average team, with an average manager, feeling let down by the board, still getting his fitness up after the Euros.

Kane would be exactly what we need, which is why Pep prioritised him over Haaland.

Kane is akin to De Bruyne at present. Form is temporary, but class is permanent.

I can only hope that City and Spurs can try and revisit it in January, because I think he remains the most realistic and obtainable top class striker we can attract.
Didn't Pep say something like, I hope Harry Kane enjoys the rest of his career in London, after Kane announced he was staying at spurs? Just my opinion but when Pep said that I thought we won't be back in for him, it was the way he said it.

Mbappe wanted out of psg well before Messi signed. If Mbappe goes to Madrid next summer which seems like a certainty, then expect psg to throw the kitchen sink at Haaland and his reps, he can go there for 3 or 4 years then get another big move in his prime.

He did say that. He said he wishes him well in his last years at Spurs. That door is shut imo.

The first question any top top player asks next season, is who will be the manager the season after. Signing up for 5 years not knowing who the manager is will be interesting. This could have a bearing.

Rubbish that means every time any player moves he asks who the manager going to be in 2 years!

Funny all the excuses some fans think of for a player to comeback here and the hoops a player has to jump through for us to sign them!

Very different situation. This not in 2 years it’s the season after you sign for 5 years. Pep is a big draw. Let’s see how this plays out.
