Bluemoon Angling Thread

Never had a problem with line lay on my Shimano Baitrunners and have had many. I won’t say any more about the Double Strength mate because I said it all on text but that decision has cost you a fish, not the reel, because correctly tied flouro or braid in 12lb will not snap even if you hook and hold a 20lb fish. At least you won’t make that mistake again!
Yes, you're correct, my fault. I did have the clutch too tight though.

On one rod I have put 15lb coated braid stripped back 3". On the other rod I've gone with my tried and trusted flouro. Problem i have though is weed on the line even though i have my rods on the tripod at 11 o'clock.

3-12am and I'm wide awake after grabbing an hour an half shut eye in the storm. Time for a brew i think.

*Edit.

2 minutes after writing this my bottom rod went. 5 minutes later another 7lb barbel(weighed) in the net. A quick glug of my source boilie in fermented shrimp(fuckin' stinks) and another PVA bag on and I'm cast in again.

I might even get chance to put the kettle on now: )

13 barbel so far, 4 in daylight this morning. Three over 9lb, biggest 9-7. Hoping for a double and possibly beat my 12-3 PB. Heres hoping.

Was just about to take a 12 mile round trip to the tackle shop and a cockney geezer kindly offered to go for me: )
How's the new bivvy?

Slow going throughout the day but i expected that. Had a much needed kip for a couple of hours and was rudely awoken at 14:30 by a nice 8lb barbel that went well.

Just having a tidy up and making a few hook-lengths. Debating whether to mix up a bowl of groundbait for my top rod. Thing is it will encourage single bleep bream and i don't really want that.

Yeah he got a 600lb marlin as well.
Really! Good lad Chris. He'd been chasing marlin around the world for years without success when we went fishing together. I remember he got his first one a few years ago because he texted me. Pass on my regards. Last time I saw him he had to leave the river because he had a size 8 hook embedded past the barb in his thumb.

Will do, he should be back for Burnley.

Why ? On Rossmere the other week poor old Pat did the same, well in, asked him he could push it through, did exactly that, I popped for some side-cutters, hey presto, barb off, back through the old thumb, on with the fishing, no time to waste. Muscles in his spit.
