Peter Drury replaces Martin Tyler on Sky Sports

He's an old **** as well which is gonna bring his energy and enthusiasm levels down. At this point I feel he won't actually retire, he'll just go away after his health takes a turn and that will be the end of him commentating on games.

When De Bruyne scored the equaliser it reminded me of his commentary from the 2013/14 game. He says "2-2" in pretty much the exact same tone then as he did just 10 days ago. You can hear the pain in his voice. It's almost like he's trying to squeeze out a big poo he's been holding in.

The worst was Peter Drury in that match. Literally sounded heart broken when we equalized.

Not heard his reaction. Arlo White for NBC Sport was enthusiastic when we equalised. He was the same when Sane scored the winner at the Etihad a few years ago.

Senile old ****. Put him out to pasture.
He is not senile.

his brain is as sharp as a blade, hence the rush to put Luke Shaw into the equation ..immediately after a Manchester City player had scored his 12th international goal in 12 matches.....an astounding Achievement. in International Football, by a Manchester City player....and Tyler mumbles somat about Luke Shaw.

He knows what he is doing....for his contract.

I think “sharp as a blade” is stretching things a bit pal

It’s a long long time since “at long long last”

Yeah ,your probably right.he is senile....
But coming into that match, the story must have been Italy 37 game unbeaten v a team whose forward had blasted 11goals in 11games.
When that forward actually scores against Italy...you would expect appropriate recognition for the forward.and perhaps his club..it was indeed a Moment.......all Tyler could say was Luke Shaw...

Can’t argue with that. Maybe he just gets fed lines by the production team in the event of certain things happening ? At Anfield when we went a goal down he trotted out a line about us having only scored 2 away goals all season and now we’d need to score that many to win with unseemly haste - it just seemed an odd thing to say.

Agreed.
The reason he still has the gig.....Is because he will follow the mantra.
Do what your contract makers say.
25 years ago he was a brilliant knowledgeable balanced commentator on Football.
Now.he is an ageing nodding dog puppet.
Quite sad.

I can`t believe he`s been anything else other than a boring **** in those 25 years.
