Driving test cancellation

My wife had her test booked for nov 5th it’s all paid for lesson before etc then suddenly this morning she just checked for the sake of just checking and they have now changed it without an email to March 2022 . Is there anything we can do ?

The cancellation does seem rather arbitrary, especially with neither explanation nor refund. My joke was partly in jest because I’m sure I’d read that examiners were being pulled to help examine HGV drivers.

I know mate she is heartbroken as she has built herself up for it and it’s also £29 per month and she is test ready now so waiting another 5 month is a disgrace .

This exact thing happened to me last week (well, they cancelled at 6pm the night before an 11am test). Give the DVSA a call and tell them the new date doesn’t work - I did this and despite them initially saying there was nothing they could do, check the website for cancellations etc I pushed them a bit and they came up with a new test for 2nd November. I think it helps if you can give them a reason why it’s urgent (in my case kid on the way and my wife is going mental) - my sense was they have a “priority” list and will try to fix if you push a bit. Good luck

Download an app like driving test genie, you give them your test date number etc and for about 16 quid they scour all the cancellations on the DVLA every day and will text you an alert when one pops up to reschedule. You'll get one in no time that way.
