If Sterling went back to the scousers after the way they treated him after he left would say more about him than anything else.

Stockholm syndrome doesn't begin to explain it.

It would show he's got zero sense of loyalty to this club. To move to our main rivals who we've consistently competed with would be such a strange move. Especially considering how much our fans have backed him despite all the vitriol Liverpool fans have given him.

The way I define world class is would I consider a particular player if I was picking a hypothetical composite world 11. A couple of years ago I might have considered Raz but now he is so far away from that. I think a change of scenery is what he needs.

World class was a direction he was heading for a short time,he had the potential......i myself believed he would develop his game and push on to achieve such.Unfortunately that has proven incredibly wide of the mark, and, given the chronic weaknesses in his game,i think we have seen the best of him.

I always think with wingers like Sterling they peak early and it is hard to be a great winger over 27?? Part of me hope he stays but I can’t see it to be honest.

If he wants to leave he can do for me, i will remember the glorious times Everton being one, but if we pick our strongest 11 most will pick the side that started vs Liverpool or Chelsea, Sterling may believe he deserves a pay rise with the new contract that was on offer but performances say otherwise, and so we move onto moving him on, around £70 million should do it with payments based over 5 years should bring everyone to the table.
So who to replace him? Calvert- Lewin can do everything except pace better.

Gut feeling, the way he plays against them makes me think he would go back in a flash.

I'm only playing. Personally, I can't see it for a whole load of reasons on all three ends of the deal.

In fact I suspect the BILD "article" posted a few pages back is nothing other than a cheap way to generate traffic their way.

Still, stranger things have happened before.

At the end of the day it will all come down to money and who will offer the most in wages etc.

Footballers in my experience are greedy bastards and have little or no principles.

I‘m with you on that one.
If we want principles then we’ll need to look to the amateur game because, at a professional level we can expect players to act as professionals and that’s all about the money they can earn from their club and spin-off image rights etc.
Even a boyhood supporter playing for his team will only hang around if he can earn his due recompense.
So, for example, while I can be rightly excited over a brilliant young player like Foden playing for us, a team he’s always supported, I’m not naive enough to think he’d be pulling on the jersey if we were languishing in the Championship.

Quite funny. He moved from Liverpool to City why do u think he is loyal ? English players also barely leave the League. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.
