I'm sure someone said as part of that piece that the costs quoted to fix the problem were huge - I can understand that that might be the case.
They then said that the figures that are the basis for the cost prediction were not being released - that immediately makes people think 'why are they hiding things?'.

I can see that it might damage the stock price of water companies, but is that the most important thing? If the companies go bust, the govt takes them over.
