The heady days when everyone had a croft and the bonfire built by children with everyones back gates and family heirloom brown furniture. Hanging outside the pub with the guy cadging for pennies for the guy.
Families used to come out watching and their fireworks were set off in turn for the benefit of everyone. jacket potatoes burned to a crisp on the bonfire were food of the gods.
Walking to school in the morning with the pavements littered with rocket stems and carcasses of spent fireworks and the acrid smell of black powder though the smog created by the festivities.
Now it's just random arseholes pissed up buying the biggest loudest bomb they can afford to set off all the car alarms, maybe I'm just a FOC who hasn't moved on but it's just not the same is it?
