If the Dems get wiped out in the mid-terms it won't be because anything you say is right. It will be because there are millions of gullible people who believe every lie that Fox news tells them.

You stumbled on here like a drunk uncle at a wedding, made a comment about “woke subjects” being taught in school that even a two minute google would have shown was complete bollocks, got called out on it by half a dozen people and now try and sound smug!?!

I’m not a Democrat. Politically I’ve always been Republican leaning but I can see a **** when I see one and Trump was the worst leader the US has had in my lifetime (and probably a good deal longer).

I’d prefer it if the US had universal healthcare, if they didn’t have a mass shooting every week, if they didn’t fuck up the environment more than they already have but in reality, so long as Trump’s not in power then it’s more of a curiosity than anything I care deeply about. I believe it sad that the GoP are turning into the western Taliban and moving away from science and into whatever bastardised form of Christianity they’ve turned themselves into but at the end of the day, I’ll still be playing golf whatever they do.

For years running, among Republicans, there's been a visceral distrust in science, experts, and media, coupled with prejudice against those who are not white christians. I was brought up by a father (born to rural farmers in Missouri) whose beliefs were exactly such. And growing up I believed the same - as is natural - though I often had a nagging doubt in the back of my mind. It took me 45 years to begin to believe otherwise.

Parnell's wife told the court that when she was heavily pregnant, he pulled over on Interstate 79 and forced her out of the car, demanding she abort the pregnancy. Once, she said, he strangled her so violently she had to bite his arm to break free.

I'd read about this previously but I didn't realise the case was up in court already.

'Trump-endorsed' says it all really.
 
The Republican party is owned by Donald Trump. And he's going to run for reelection. He'll stand an excellent chance - greater than 50% IMO - of winning - yes, I get the "no way can this happen sentiment" - but such sentiment is wishful thinking at best - and fucking bullshit given reality.

The truth is - Democracy itself in the USA has about a 50-50 chance of ending within the next 3 years. If Trump is elected, he'll drive changes to laws that ensure he'll remain in power until he dies and that his chosen successor (one of his sons most likely) takes charge following his death.

Sham elections will of course occur - but make no doubt - Georgia and other contested states will "find" enough votes to cement the Trump hegemony.

One of the main reasons people assume he won't run is that he won't take the chance of losing again. But the rate at which they are gearing up to fix the result makes that seem less of an issue. So much rides on his legal issues and to date nothing looks like it will stick. So you have to think that he does see himself running but there is a long way to go.
