Raheem Sterling | Joins Chelsea for £50m

He is easily an £80-90m player at his age and with what he has won. In today's market, that is arguably conservative. Even with his current form and contract length. If we were trying to sign him, thats the bare minimum we would have to pay, so there is no reason why he should be valued any less.

In reality, £60-70m should do it. Even if it is somewhat disrespectful.

Would a Raz for FDJ swap now be more likely given that city would (reportedly) be giving barca some cash as well? Or would that not impact their supposed €10M transfer limit?

I think they will offer us Dembele. He’s on high wages at Barca, plus he hasn’t signed a new deal. Unless Xavi does not want to use FDJ

Who was the last outgoing transfer that we seriously cashed in on, taking the particular player into account? 15m for Otamendi, maybe? Then you see what Chelsea got for Luiz; 50 bloody million. And then bought him back 2 years later for 34m. Why can't Txiki pull off deals like that?

Today, in an offtherecord with 64 journalists, laporta said that barça is going for sterling. Well that

One of our most reliable journos. Well that indeed, he's gone.

Basically because we rarely sell players either at their peak or players mid contract. We wanted to sell Otamendi , Chelsea didn’t want to sell Luiz, plus according to transfermarkt overall they spent £54mill on him they sold him twice for a total of £52 mill.
Sane and if Sterling this goes year are two players going into their last year neither getting into the team regularly.

Something just doesn't feel right about City and Barca doing business considering all of the connections.
city wont sell to pl clubs.atletico and real have other targets,i dont know if city and psg would do business so that leaves barca and juve

I dont think its a big factor/consideration,just finding him a suitable club who are happy to pay his demands will be the biggest challenge.

His squad place is more important than a transfer fee,IMO.

You don't think getting as big a fee as possible is a major consideration for the club ?

Ah just saw the last bit " in your opinion"

Now your post makes sense.

I don’t think we’d get a fee from anyone bar an English club

if he goes abroad it will be a part ex

Hear Michael Edwards is leaving Liverpool? Could do with him, master of fleecing buying clubs. Probably improve our sales

Didn’t Sterling come out quite. Few years ago that he would like to play in Spain and if he ain’t going to get regular game time makes sense for him to go there and we get a loan fee and most of his wages paid for.

We won't get a fee from anyone in England. Our best chance is Barca mortgaging the club shop to get him.

40m should hopefully tempt them.

FDJ wages apparently far eclipse what sterling gets with us...if a deal is possible it suits us both as they need lower wages and sterling needs interest from somewhere big.

Still think newcastle are the obvious place if we want a generous fee and sterling wants top wages.
