why have you posted a picture of Hadfield?
Cracking pint of Caffrey’s in the Angel, cheap too.To all of you who are critisising
To all of you that are criticising Dukinfield, it’s like getting into heaven, only the best are allowed in.
Talking of cellar bars, not sure if it was a cellar bar as such, but used to go in a place under Piccadilly station after what always seemed to be an inevitable defeat.Could be a bit ‘lively’ in the Sportsman.
Always loved cellar bars though, something gloriously seedy and speakeasy about them.
My favourite place in town for years was Branagans in the Royal Exchange (not the cheesy nightclub onPeter Street) Blue central

Pretty sure it was some kind of British Rail club(surprisingly enough!). Used to go in with a City fan I knew ,who I seem to remember did work on the railways. Can't remember much about the place or him tbh. Nice bloke but could never understand a word he said as he was always so pissed up.
As this would have been 86/87 ish when he used to sing 'We never win at home and we never when away' (i understood that bit!)he really meant it, there really was no sense of irony!!!
Ahh, Dukky. Horrible town, but home to the filthiest young ladies in Greater Manchester.Nowhere is nicer than Dukinfield.
This one was definitely just under Piccadilly Station(maybe had nothing to do with the railway and was just near it?) Seem to remember the entrance was under a bridge near some steps that went up into the station? Always went there after about 8 pints so recollections are a bit hazy!!British rail club was outside Victoria station and is now a hairdressers I think
Yeah there was a British Rail/ASLEF? trade union club, you could pass it on the steps up to the station which used to go up from Store Street, opposite where the Warehouse Project used to be. Only went in a couple of times, had to be a member or signed in by a BR wirker, proper Phoenix Nights vibe with turns and cheap beerTalking of cellar bars, not sure if it was a cellar bar as such, but used to go in a place under Piccadilly station after what always seemed to be an inevitable defeat.

No, but I have been outside of DukinfieldHave you ever been outside of Dukinfiekd?
And you still did'nt buy a roundOnce, but it was only for 15 minutes as he wanted to see who turned on the street lights. When they came on all on their own he turned round and went back muttering the real world was more than he could take.
Not in Tameside, it's in CheshireIt's the Tameside equivalent of Royston Vasey. Always keep your engine running or you'll never get out.
You still go in there ?Cracking pint of Caffrey’s in the Angel, cheap too.
Occasionally pal, with my mate Paul Rodgers, in the far right, he lives on King Steet. You still go in there ?
So who do you pay your Council Tax to?Not in Tameside, it's in Cheshire
Name the boy band:Occasionally pal, with my mate Paul Rodgers, in the far right, he lives on King Steet.
wasn`t Branigans called the Conservatory at some point?Branigans (different spelling from the shite on on Peter St) was great. One of the first 'trendy' pub/bars of it's time. Owner based the design on the bar from Cheers TV show. First to sell Grolsch bottles I think?
An ex of mine worked behind the bar for a time. I would give her a fiver for a couple of pints, and she would give me £4.99 in change. Before the days of computer tills and EPOS systems, lol.
Apparently, issues with access finally closed it, as they decided the arcade where the entrance was needed locking off at night. No compromise was found.
A mate did some work in the Royal Exchange some years ago, which meant accessing that area. He told me it' was all still there, in tact. The bar, tables and chairs, just gathering dust ...
Attenborough. How did he sneak onto the blue moon forum.Sir David ? Surely not !!
