Everton (H) - Post-Match Thread

As sky ignore us here's Peps interview.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "We gave rhythm into our game, they defended really well, so deep, on the counter-attack. In general we controlled the game. We played the game we should play to beat teams like Everton."

On Manchester City's second goal: "It was great, the strike was amazing. Great goal.

"When one team comes just to defend it is always going to be difficult and you have to be careful. Everything is going to be well in the right moment. The quality of the players we have made the difference."

On penalty decision: "I didn't see it."

On Raheem Sterling's goal: "I know him quite well. Since I arrive he has been a key player for us. He has to perform like he performed today and I am happy for him. He did a great job."

On Cole Palmer: "He played almost 90 minutes. He has more experience. He is a huge talented player. It was difficult with not much spaces there but he played a good game and he will improve in the future as he is so young."

Rodri is immense, he dictated tempo from the first kick, what a player he is becoming and sprinkled the motm performance with a thunderous goal.... better player in the prem at the moment there is not, unit!
The old ffs Rodri & Gundogan partnership soon sailed lol

Good, dominant performance and should have been more. Two brilliant goals, Cancelo's pass was a thing of beauty and great finish by Raz. Rodders was my pick for MOTM, superb strike for his goal and he deserves praise for his consistent high level of performances this season.

Very impressed by Cole Palmer today, who without a doubt is a future star. All in all very enjoyable afternoon.

Lovely stuff, can we just offer Pep 100 million a year to stay forever ?

Spurs win to dump the raggles further down the table would be nice end to the weekend’s football
I would sign your first paragraph every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Totally disagree with the second one though. Zero sympathy from me for Levy's club. Absolutely zero...

They have finally signed a competent manager to the philosophy of whom I will always be against. Other than that, I have no issues with him on a personal level, not yet at least. But I do have issues with what the club represents under Levy. I also know for a fact that he is completely ignorant about football, Spurs' misery over the years reflects exactly that...

He was lucky with Pochetino, and now he hopes he'll be lucky again with Conte. But for him, it's just another gamble, before the next one. That's what he does. Gambles. He cannot plan, lacking the knowledge for that. His decisions have consequences, yet constantly avoids accountability, always getting a free pass...

I'm sorry but I simply hope the worst for them...

I know it was only a few minutes against a tiring side but the lad Mcatee has something about him brought a renewed energy into the game last couple of minutes, hell even ratboy Neville was waxing lyrical about him calling him a David silva clone with his close control in the penalty area, just a shame we hadn’t grabbed the third goal slightly earlier we may have seen a bit more of the lad …

He's going to be very very special.
