Everton (H) - Post-Match Thread

It was a City youngster and yes he got onto the pitch at the end - security immediately went to overreact, but Rodri told them to back off and gave the lad his shirt. Obviously a job's worth escorted the lad back to his parents and gave them a lecture.
Thanks for the clarification - I bet the youngster will cherish the shirt after that wonder goal.

I
Just watching the match on City+. I'm too biased to have an objective view on the penalty decisions. The Sterling one was soft and shouldn't have been given but you're right it shouldn't have been overturned.
Gundogan was bounced off the ball by Iwobi, body to body. Probably wasn't a pen but I'd have wanted one. Bernardo was kicked on the bottom of his foot when it was in the air. Think Walker had one the same given against him last season. It was difficult for the on field ref to see but I'm pretty sure VAR was in operation yesterday
I've just watched the rerun and it looked like Sterling got kicked on the knee. The number of times I've heard "if you dive in like that you're inviting the referee to give a penalty" but I can't recall one like that being overturned - though Walker got away with one this season.

Bernie definitely a foul, but VAR is much less likely to review a penalty not given than a penalty given.

Was really disappointed with Everton. Expected a tough game but we didnt have to get out of 2nd gear.

throw in appearances for palmer and mcatee plus 2 top class goals and was a very satisfying afternoon
