Knowing who Ralph Rangnick is and how excellent a job he's done, and knowing he'll improve United behind the scenes considerably while stabilising them on the pitch does not make me scared. They're still going to be hamstrung by the owners, and we still have Pep Guardiola.

Do you know who sounds scared? The clown trying to convince everyone that one of the most influential and revered people in German football of the last 20 years is "an OAP" because he's swallowed Sky Sports marketing about the Premier League being the only league in the world.

The rags appointed a director of football a few months ago and have fletcher in some weird technical role so I don't see what role he could have come the end of the season.
The team are going to have to learn his style and then a new one at the end of the season when the replacement comes in. I'd say they have to unlearn solksjaer's style first but that should take about 2 minutes because he didn't have one.

I’m such an expert on obscure European managers who have read a few text books.. been on some advanced coaching courses.. had a few nice things said about them by proper coaches

but at the end of the day achieved the square root of fuck all and been sent out to pasture in some far flung corner of Europe

also, he's not exactly been pulling up trees in the Europa Dopa league this season. unless they beat Lazio they are out after game day 5

Not a criticism more an observation. But how has these “game 1 to whatever has come into our game? It’s an American terminology and fit only for the NFL not football. I might seem a bit pedantic but all the same let’s keep our football away from USA sayings. Next thing I’m expecting is the “offense vs the defense “. Ok defense I get. :-)

Decent appointment for them, and a huge upgrade on Solskjaer. Not easy coming in mid-season and implementing a new style of play though. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

He will still have Noddys back room staff so he will have to coach them first.

Rangnick is a surprisingly sensible appointment due to his knack of turning things around for teams in a long term capacity. Hopefully he comes undone by the fact it's United and they're run by people who still probably don't know the offside rule.
