Best goal ever seen......

Yaya at Wembley against Sunderland or for importance Kompany against Leicester. Even Kinkladze against the saints at Maine road was a corker.

They will give it to salah or henderson against Everton
The commentator on NBCSN said something to the effect of "Wow. That will be a goal of the year . . . well, it won't be a goal of the year candidate, but wow, that was unbelievable." Maybe he knows something we don't, like a goal scored by a City player can never win that type of honor!

Kompany vs Leicester is the greatest "great" City goal of all time. The context of the club captain and a legend scoring a screamer from outside the box to win the game in his final home game for the club he'd played for for over a decade, to put us back to the top of the league, throughout all the injuries, playing through the pain time and again. He's a fucking centre half scoring a goal like that. Speaking in Premier League era terms - tell me when Vidic, John Terry or Van Dijk has done anything as important or anything as dramatic. I know Adams scored a cracker at home for Arsenal when they won the title but that was to make it 4-0.

But yeah, Bernies goal last night was very good.

Vinny against Leicester.
For years it was Kinky's v Southampton. Before that it was Hinchcliffe getting the 5th against the swamp donkeys in the massacre in 89.

One I'd nominate but didn't see the goal live was King Colin's against Chelsea. A volley from a cross over from the left wing and the commentator can't get the words out as it takes him by surprise.

Oh here it is:

The team I fell in love with

What about Paul's goal in the semi final against Ipswich? You won't see many better struck free kicks than that. I was on the Holte End that day, about a third of the way up from the front and right in line with the right hand post. As soon as it left his foot, you knew it was going to be close.
That was a cracker as well. I was there too. Stayed over from the semi up until the final at Wembley. Thing was though due to me being a relatively small person, I didn’t see the goal nor the highlights. I did see it long after. No internet those days.

I choose the MacKenzie one as its more similar to the Bernardo one. Paul’s was a freekick.

My favourite goal was Yaya v the Rags at Wembley. I believe that was the turning point.

not only a great goal but a headed goal that was like a bullet

[86/87] Mick McCarthy vs Manchester Utd, Oct 26th 1986

This goal just got me an extra day off work.

Kuala Lumpur City (no prizes for guessing why I started watching them) won their first cup since the 80s and the local government rewarded everyone in the city with a public holiday. But because I was already off on that day, my work had to start my Christmas holiday a day earlier.

And just for a bit on context, the team they beat in the final are like the Malaysian rags, so it made it all the sweeter.

Always liked Mick McCarthy as a player for us, liked him as wolves manager as well, no nonsense and always came across as an honest guy. Oh and yes, a great goal, puts him in my legends category automatically as he scored against the rags!!!

These 2 team goals weren't shoddy either

That goal by Gundo in the Derby is one of the best ever produced in English football and all the pundits can do is moan about "United not closing City down." When this Pep era comes to an end the football media will have missed a revolution happening in front of their own eyes. Football is a glorious sport and yet so many of the press and broadcast pundits want to be negative about everything. Negative people drag us all down. I hate these experts who are stealing a living from the sport we all love.
