RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

Woke up today thinking we’ve got a nice chilled out game to watch tonight. The game finishes and I’m sat here pissed off that we barely saw any of the kids and Walker now misses the first leg in February. Playing Walker when CJ travelled and Gundo when McAtee/Palmer we’re in the squad is a bit strange. It’s alright saying the club get £2.5m a win, but that was a half hearted performance tonight and the young lads would have gave more effort.

The same people losing their minds on the match thread are the same kind that lose their minds on preseason games.

It meant nothing. It was a run out.

We'll cope without Walker.

Ref was shit.

Bring on the next game on Saturday.

Didn't think I would be pissed off regardless tonight but I am.

Walker probably fancied a rest as Pep clearly won't give him one. Sterling and Dias coming on too... baffling. Pep needs to look in the mirror next time he mentions fatigued players which will probably be in the next 3 weeks.

Finally, when Martin Keown is mystified by the referee bias you know we have a point. Referee was absolutely horrendous!

I hate the chumps league, I mean I really want us to win it, but I also really hate the whole uefa bent side of things, crap refs and favourite teams shite. I pretty much hate watching most games in the competition, beating PSG and Real Madrid always good to watch to be fair. The rest = shite

Awful display. Too many offsides, too many can’t-be-arsed performances. Glad we got a shit display out of the way in a meaningless fixture rather that than on Saturday v Wolves.

Dead Rubber.

We played like it was a dead rubber.

I got the feeling one, or two, of our players felt seriously affronted at having being asked to play in this game. And it reflected in their performances, Walker was one of them.

I am wondering is this why Pep made a point of leaving them all on. And not giving the youngsters game time.

Strange the pen wasn’t given before we scored but actually is anyone actually surprised better missing out on a pen in a dead rubber than in a knockout fixture ..

I’ve concluded that City and Pep don’t cope well with games that aren’t must wins
Think back to the shite performances in the league at the end of last season when it was more or less won, they make a real balls up of squad rotation at times
