RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

Anybody who gives a tin shit about that result is an idiot.

Disappointing to lose Walker for the last 16. Grealish needs to play his way into some form. Fernandinho is on his last legs. Kev played.

good game time for lads who needed it. That’s it.

Oh ffs do you have to be so fucking positive ? :}

A game of opinions eh.

I thought Zinchenko was his usual negative shit with an odd moment of positivity. Grealish did okay considering no fucker was creating any space whatsoever when we attacked.
Time (and Pep) will tell the truth for both of us.... have a good night

I'm not entirely sure what Pep's game was here.

The performance doesn't concern me, because the established pros were always going to treat this a training session, and at least we've spotted who isn't ready for displacing any of our best eleven.

However, it's not just speaking with hindsight to say that Walker shouldn't have been playing, nor Gundogan. With all the games coming up, it didn't make sense to play players who've already had so much game time all season.

The biggest issue for me, though, is that it was an ideal time to play the likes of Palmer. McAtee, Egan-Riley and Wilson-Esbrand. If you can't at least give them some minutes (I note Palmer had five, by the way) in a dead rubber, when we have eight games coming up in four weeks, then when can you?

McAtee is stalling over a new deal because he's worried he won't play. We might as well have just withdrawn the contract offer, because if that doesn't push him further to the door, nothing will.

anyone watch the pre game crap on BT? Mostly about dippers and then the start of the game eulogising about the fucking high press from Leipzig. They’re really on their bastard brainwash rag agenda now.
Mentioned the German messiah a few times too.
That really annoyed me, what a bunch on *******. It’s not like they dont have the rest of the evening for it.

I don't think Pep rates these kids enough, very very disappointing from him tonight and he'll probably get slated for it

I'm sure he must consult you, as you seem to know so much about his thinking , and I'm sure we can can count on you to be critical , as it's your fucking norm on here.

Can Kyle miss both games of the last 16?
More pissed off over that than anything. I'd understand if we were on the verge of being eliminated and he lost the head but not what he done tonight it's mind boggling.
I think it will be one game. What I do know is that he never loses his head so something went on.

KDB has been poor long before he got COVID. He consistently looks a yard of the pace and whilst you can see he has still got the vision, his execution of passes has dropped of a cliff.

Like Laporte, I don’t see either of them regaining their very top form. Whilst that doesn’t mean they are no longer top players, we now have better options than them in the squad and Pep’s selection should reflect that.
Don't know about that - his first time pass to Phil who then hit the post was pretty good. Kev will be fine - he's had a few injuries and just needs to get right - remember we need him to be at his best in Feb onwards - nothing is won before then. I have zero worries about his form, he is a class act and while we wait we have the mercurial Bernardo to keep us entertained.

Anyone upset at our kids not playing better not look at the dippers line up tonight
