RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

Important players needed minutes and the result was not unexpected. There were three negatives for me. The number of basic offsides, Walkers brainfart and the number of times Grealish got himself into a decent shooting position and failed to finish.

Didn't think I would be pissed off regardless tonight but I am.

Walker probably fancied a rest as Pep clearly won't give him one. Sterling and Dias coming on too... baffling. Pep needs to look in the mirror next time he mentions fatigued players which will probably be in the next 3 weeks.

Finally, when Martin Keown is mystified by the referee bias you know we have a point. Referee was absolutely horrendous!
Only just got in from work he brought Dias on? Pmsl what a pillock.

The fact that pep complains about the players playing too much, then puts a team out like that is strange. Doesn't make him wrong, but why complain about it?
I'm not defending Walker, and for an experienced player that was mental. He was a player who has played loads of minutes. Why was he even on.
Also think it's a harsh red, doesn't hurt the guy but maybe he could of. Shame we aren't reffed like that would be playing against 9 every game after 70 mins.

I didn’t see the first 55 minutes, did Foden have an injury or just brought off at half time as a change?

What the fuck was that?? I mean seriously, I nearly shit myself into a coma when I saw our line up. Why play such a strong 11, risking injuries & suspensions, in a match that means fuck all? :-|

We brought half the academy & played one of em for 5 minutes in this match? Pep needs to take a long hard look at himself! Now we've needlessly lost Walker for the first knockout round match, over a game where the players could barely be arsed putting the effort in.

With such a busy period ahead of us, tonight should have been a rest day, now all we've achieved is tiring out several of our players, ahead of how many fuckin games, in the space of a month. To be honest, I could barely be arsed watching the match, so annoyed was I that we risked so much, for so little reward.

Someone please tell me Pep gave a sound reason for playing such a strong team? Aké, Zin, KDB, Grealish, Stones, Steffen & Foden I get, but the rest was utterly, totally pointless, as were we at the end of the game. Jeeez! :-(

€2.5mill.

I’ll get slated for this, but Pep has had another one if his CL brain farts. A dead rubber, f*ck all else to play for bar €2.5mill Euros, with Wolves and Leeds coming up and a hectic Christmas schedule. As for the kids getting game time, do me a favour!

Foden, poor
Gundo.... Worse than Foden
Grealish ... Even worse (does he know how to press??)
Stones ... Shite
Walker WTF
Dino WTAF
KDB shabby

Ake, Zin, Mahrez and Stefan ok

It’ll be my fault, I always bet a few quid on us to lose to soften the blow, but I couldn’t be arsed tonight as the result didn’t matter. I didn’t expect us to be that shit though.

We weren't at it today and some sloppy defensive play cost us.

I can see why Laporte is preferred to Stones at the moment too.
John is 27 and insanely talented yet he still needs a grown-up beside him to hold his hand. Sadly his mentality and concentration can’t be trusted otherwise.
Of our four centre halves, that tonight is comfortably our worst combination. The worst player paired with the worst mind

Yes article 52 states its automatic one game but they can increase it if they feel it was deemed serious.
If they deem that serious and increase it, it will tell a story on its own. He was a dickhead for getting drawn into it but some refs would have just booked him. It was hardly in the violent category

Beginning to worry about grealish at the moment! Does not look like he is enjoying his football !
