The Conservative Party

If the PM is off because of the birth of another sprog and his deputy is self isolating. Who's leading the country?

I saw a cat* waiting to be let in outside number 10 on a news clip this morning. Maybe ...

*I'm assuming it's still Larry.

Do you think those two blokes not running the country will be an overall positive or negative?

Give it to Larry until the end of the Term.

Back on topic I think most high profile journalists have closed ranks on the Christmas parties as they were very likely at them or are mates with who was there.
This could be interesting as once people start to feel the heat and consequences felt (such the resignation yesterday) then people start to break ranks. The lists of those involved are bound to get out and if there is a high profile Journo on the list who has been covering the story without disclosing involvement then they would have to resign.

A few big names have been thrown about but I genuinely think that if they had been there they would have to go. However I suspect they would not be there because no politician is going to invite a journo to a staff booze up.

I don't think I've ever posted on the political sub forum before but I am so angry now.
My son in law's mother died during lockdown alone in hospital and it was only through the goodwill of the funeral directors that her offspring and her grandchildren could go to his funeral together. During lockdown I couldn't see my family, apart from on FT. They missed my birthday as I missed their birthdays. I know that it happened to everyone and I apologise for making this about me, but I think that I have now reached the end of my tether.... no I don't think, I KNOW I have reached the end.

This, while that shower of manure in Westminster were partying, this while those excuses for human beings were laughing at the public, the public who, don't forget, pay their overinflated salaries (over inflated because they don't blooming well earn it!), this while those lower than gutter creatures think that it is one rule for them and one for us. They are sending manure down on us from a great height.

Sorry rant over and I am going back to just reading and steaming inside now. Stay safe and take care.

How depressing is it that people will vote for this shower in the next election? You know they'll get back in. We'll reinforce the priminister's view that he can do whatever he wants without repercussion.
Absolutely agree with this post...... but....

I just couldn't vote for that other shower of shit. Mine i'm afraid will be a spoilt paper.

People voted tory mainly because of brexit , they have no valid reasons to vote for them again after showing what lying , sleazy cunts they have been
True.... that and the fact there was no creditable alternative available. I'm not saying Boris was creditable by any means - far from it, but he did have an UEP (Unique Electable Point) unlike the opposition and it got him over the line comfortably.

There are a few honourable exceptions - am thinking Sam Coates, Beth Rigby and Kay Burley at Sky and Lewis Goodall at the BBC and James O'Brien and Eddie Mair on LBC but for the most part the Govt has journalism in its back pocket

Think I need to add to that Adil Ray off GMB and LBC's own Auntie She(lagh) who also hold the govt's feet to the fire daily

My brother (Born Labour and always voted Labour - when he could be arsed) loves Boris, always has. He likes that Boris is entertaining and funny. Thats about as much as my brother gets involved with politics and why he voted Conservative.

Nowadays when I ask him about Boris and the news he doesn't want to talk about it, he changes the subject. He still likes Boris, but he's disengaged from politics again. (Strange that, it's like he was just a fan, rather than a voter.) Shame that, its the only time we talk politics.

What the fuck have our media done to this country!

He has a strange allure to working class people who know nothing about politics. His accent and delivery style fools people who don’t understand what he’s saying into believing that he knows what he’s doing. And him being a big shagger, boozer and constantly looking like he thinks everything is a bit of a laugh plays into that.

When you combine those people with died in the wool Tories and fanatically stubborn Brexitists you get an 80 seat majority.
