Roll on Christmas 2022/23..
Do you think it will be any different than this one?

That’s the irrationality I struggle with as well. A British woman was arrested in Greece the other day for peddling some mystical Covid remedy that she said had to be applied transdermally. She sincerely believed in its efficacy but simultaneously doubted the actual existence of Covid 19! Alice did say all the best people are bonkers…It's odd that these anti-vaccinators will not have the vaccination but all happily take the newly created drugs to save their sorry arses when hospitalised.
No, it's the fault of the government and the NHS, but we don't mess with people's lives every winter when the NHS has its annual crisis. Not having enough hospital beds, ICU and nurses is not the fault of SAGE and it’s the reason we are where we are.
OK picture looking clearer - twice as infectious (minimum) with a doubling time of around 3 days in the UK (as opposed to 11 with Delta)
Now this doubling time may be due to a number of super-spreader events so it could be a lot lower.
Covid passports are a waste of time. One person infects over half the attendees.
At least a 1/3 as severe (worst case could be a lot better as initial hospitalisations in SA look like they were immune compromised) in terms of hospitalisation and 1/9 as severe in terms of ICU and deaths - very little lower respitory tract infections.
Do you think the winter crisis of 2020 was worse than any other of the past 50 years of winters? No, it's the fault of the government and the NHS, but we don't mess with people's lives every winter when the NHS has its annual crisis.
Will they they though? Could they justify their position? It's odd that these anti-vaccinators will not have the vaccination but all happily take the newly created drugs to save their sorry arses when hospitalised.

Don’t have a problem with your opinion you are entitled to it, you just said you can’t change the rules which is nonsense, hence I said it was nonsense. And if my opinion is that people shouldnt be sent home to die or charged for treatment if they aint jabbed is deemed to be nonsense then the lunatics have truly taken over the asylum.
Always been the trouble with this thread. The vocal few force those with differing opinions out in the end.
There was a post a few pages back about people with differing views being forced off this thread, shit like this doesn't really help.Though someone will be along shortly to show a screenshot of someone on Twitter saying we’re all going to die before Christmas.
Not sure I agree with one person infecting quite so many attendees, but I do agree with your point about the passports. I suspect governments just want to be seen as being active and think that their use somehow reassures people.OK picture looking clearer - twice as infectious (minimum) with a doubling time of around 3 days in the UK (as opposed to 11 with Delta)

man if all that holds up as the weeks go by it will be nearly as good as us winning the quad. Please please please.OK picture looking clearer - twice as infectious (minimum) with a doubling time of around 3 days in the UK (as opposed to 11 with Delta)

Was it worse than 1957-58 in terms of deaths? Genuinely don’t know.Do you think the winter crisis of 2020 was worse than any other of the past 50 years of winters?
Fair do's, there was no reason for me to be snarky there really. Apologies. There was a post a few pages back about people with differing views being forced off this thread, shit like this doesn't really help.
Let's just enjoy what looks like good news without swiping at those a bit more pragmatic in their outlook at the current situation.
