Funny enough its getting to the stage were I prefer champions league as the away team tends to have ago.

I came up to the Southampton game and was bored out of my head. Football is about entertaining the fans, but sadly for City fans so many away teams dont give a shit about producing a game.
People will argue it's down to City to break them down etc. People will argue it doesnt matter how anti football the away team is the fans should make a good atmosphere. 50 quid to watch an anti football team is making me choose which match I want to attend. In the passed if I could get a ticket for any match I would come up now I turned some down like Burnley, wolves etc

I dont know what the answer is , in away it's a compliment to City that teams are scared to play.

I’m actually gob smacked at that turnout today and I’m expecting lower on Tuesday. There are loads of reasons why the turnout might be low today, but even so I think that was really poor from us.

We averaged 39,999 in that shit season under Pearce. Going off today’s attendance (I reckon 43-44,000), I think we might get around the 40k mark on Tuesday night.

The run-up to Christmas has always been bad, assume Leeds will also bring their 3000 quota.

I didn't go today with my son, nor my dad or brother, all attendees every week until Covid hit.

I deferred my season ticket and today's game is one I would not be fussed about, but gone out of habit.

I think a lot of people have simply got out of the habit.

I've spent £900 so far this season on tickets, which is £275 more than my actual season ticket, but they are for the games I would never think of missing, including the upcoming against Chelsea, Liverpool, United and final game against Villa.

Bought two tickets for me and my lad last minute for Palace and cost me £90.

Ridiculous.

I am still making my mind up on next season, as I do like the new flexibility I have for now.

To show how fickle fans can be, however, if City were to sign a worldy like Haaland, I would defo be renewing.

There’s not a lot that City can do about the way other teams set up to play but there’s a lot they can do about the £50 part.

True I also find it odd how City charge 60quid plus for the Burnley game. I am never going to pay that for that game. That's the same price for PSG and Burnley are no PSG.

Match day prices and season card prices are a joke and have been for years.in the old days season ticket money effectively paid the wages, it’s not the case anymore. The club don’t really want the typical fan who drinks in the pub pre match and then supports the team for 90mins and then goes home. They want customers who will pay over the odds for a ticket, visit the club shop spending stupid amounts etc. Problem is we don’t have those types of fans. And slowly despite us playing the best football ever the fans are picking and choosing their games and spending £60+ to watch one team try and play whilst the other parks a bus, time wastes from the first whistle and falls over at every opportunity isn’t that appealing. Wolves had two attempts all game and one corner which was last minute. Why does any pundit thinks they played well and deserved something from the game is beyond me. The idea of the game is to score goals which you can’t do when no effort is made to get near the goal. I suspect Leeds will at least have a go.

They loved it, but my lad is the only City regular, as the rest don't have the cash or parents with the impetus to take them.

It makes me angry. He football trains at Timperley cricket club in midweek and you can't move for City shirts.

Must be 400 kids and 70 per cent of them, including the girls teams, all togged in City.

And that's in Trafford.

Match going fans are a dying breed, the majority in the coming years will be day trippers and special occasion days.

The kickoff time is nothing to do with the attendance it’s because of the ticket prices. We’ve had all the excuses, it’s a decent attendance considering it’s 12:30, or it’s a midweek game, or it’s cold or coz it’s pissing it down, I don’t do Sunday’s, other teams have empty seats etc etc. The fact is we’ve had crap attendances for Saturday 3 o’clock kickoffs this season and the majority of other clubs don’t have the empties that we have, admittedly we have a bigger stadium than most.
We could easily fill that stadium if priced correctly which won’t happen until people properly kickoff about it, but that won’t happen because the usual, “oh well it wasn’t a bad turnout considering it was a 12:30 kickoff and it was cold” excuses get churned out every time and round and round we go.

Completely agree with everything you’ve said, but people are doing something about it. People have stopped going and are picking and choosing games. That’s one of the reasons we have more empty seats.

despite being mega successful we do not have the tourists and corporates to replace us. Therefore the club should rightfully be caring about our core support, but they don’t.

I mentioned it previously, but we as fans have no one really standing up for us. We need a supporters trust/ something similar that gives us a voice, a proper relationship to the club and calls out the disgusting ticket prices, for example. It’s easier said then done, but we are voiceless at the minute.

But S/T pick and choose nowadays, not me but a lot do. It's a big commitment attending every game with the different ko times.
A lot of people simply can't juggle work and family life around football.
The days of 9 to 5 and a weekend off are long gone.

The mobile ticketing will not be helping with many late decisions of fans not to go meaning tickets go unused.

Don't forget anyone testing positive to Covid or is unwell, apprehensive etc etc will not be going, that runs into thousands every game I bet you. Plus the 3k odd that deferred!

Club need to re think the ticketing fiasco and not give a shit if a small group or a Family share a S/T as they used to do.

I think your point about young fans is becoming a real issue at city. I keep hearing my we don’t have many younger fans (16-30) but we’ve got loads. You can see them all in the cup/ champions league games. You go to a league game those same younger fans don’t go,as they can’t afford it.

You're absolutely right. Charging £60 a ticket is pushing games far beyond a large number of people and is it really £30 for kids? That's a once a season treat, not building up a regular attendance.

Would have loved to have gone today, sadly getting a covid 19 positive meant all our tickets went on the exchange, the club priced them all at 50 quid, competing against tickets priced at 30 quid in the same block, needless to say they didn’t sell. The family stand is embarrassing in terms of size and location, just move those seats into the wings of tier 3, and turn the swhole end over to a cheap singing end, it would make a world of diffefence but the club just don’t care

It's such a missed opportunity not to be striking while the team is good and pulling all these children and their parents into the ground. If the club insist on charging adults £60 they could at least charge any child brought a quid or even a fiver. A shame that a large number of us on this forum were the sole flyers of the city flag when younger and now that we are pretty damn good the kids who we have sucked in can't really go on a regular basis.
