The pair should have just gone on the drag strip next to the circuit and had a best of three challenge. Why let Hamilton dominate the race for 54 laps, concertina the field for 3 laps, then let Verstappen sail past on fresh tyres on the last lap.If for arguments sake it was reversed and Verstappen had have won under a yellow flag as they call it, would most have been happy to see it called and end that way?
I know some will say "so long as that's the rules" but call me cynical I think there'd be more than a few who'd have wanted a final race, for Hamilton to have a chance.
Obviously there's a want for him to succeed, I have no horse in the race so to speak, but I understand the frustration on the seemingly impromptu new 'rule' during the race.
We all know that a safety car is basically a tool to bring all the drivers back together. Why don't they just stop the race and then on the restart wave each car off the grid at the interval they were behind the preceding car.
BLOODY CORRUPT.
