My mrs great uncle tested positive yesterday.

90 years old. Triple jabbed. No symptoms beyond a tiny sniffle, doesn’t feel remotely ill apart from feeling pissed off it’s cocked up his Christmas as he was meant to be coming round to my mother in laws with us.

We’ve come a long way thanks to the vaccines.

This isolation nonsense needs to be scrapped for vaccinated people. Perfectly healthy bloke, we’re all jabbed, how many more christmases does he have to spend with his family at 90!!
Our lass grandad tested positive few days ago , he 96 or 95 , he has Loads of health problems but it not affecting him , he was in a re hab hospital for his hip and caught it there

he got moved to covid ward to try and stop it spreading , so good chance there both will be fine

Got the PCR back last night, positive as expected, plans already cancelled anyway.

Already done a couple days isolating so 5 to go.

With 3 other family members we’re spending Christmas Day with my 88 year old Dad, it’s the right thing to do, all triple jabbed but no LFT’s today, he thinks he’s lived too long anyway, would be devastating for him to be on his own today.

Very busy at test centre in Rammy again just now, can’t see why people would bother going for a pcr today, seems a bit of a waste to me.

That's so harsh, hope you feel ok though.

I'm alright pal, spoke to the family and a very upset daughter. Just glad I didn't test positive tomorrow when they've all been round eating a dinner I've cooked.

Proper shitter

My daughters mother needs my PCR proof to give to her boss as she should have been with me for the next few days
Wouldn't have gone otherwise. Lots of permatitions I would think regarding everybodies situations

my Mrs sister has been in hospital since Tuesday to give birth, only allowed 1 visitor (her Mum) who’s been sleeping in chair next to bed.

someone on the bed next to her has tested positive this morning. They’ve closed the ward and have to stay inside for 7 days. Awful news.

Weird as fuck this.

One minute I feel like my world has ended, next minute like there's nothing wrong with me.

I wouldn't worry too much. I had Hong Kong flu as a 14 year old in 1968 and again two years later in the second global wave. Both times I was in bed for two weeks and had to crawl to the toilet. It was a nightmare.

I've never had the flu since.

My son in law tested positive this morning. Triple jabbed. Feels fine. That’s our day with the grandchildren out the window. So disappointed. And can’t even rearrange anything this side of NY.

Was on my way back to Heywood tomorrow to see my mum, sister and brother but they have had Xmas together today and my sister and her husband just rang to say they are feeling like shit. Negative LFT so far but we have agreed it’s just not worth the risk.

I have a feeling in a few months people will look back and wonder why they cancelled Xmas plans/isolated for 7 days with nothing more a sniffle.

Surely soon it has to be personal judgement again, if you feel shit you don’t go out, feel ok and carry on work etc as normal.

I agree mate but the issue I and millions of others will have is no work, no pay.

I literally can not afford a positive test.

People are doing it cos they’re told they’ll infect others who will die. How true that is I don’t know.

Well according to the data for the new variant this is becoming less and less likely. I mean even originally Covid wasn’t a deadly death sentence, yes it could be serious for the elderly and people with underlying conditions, we locked down and these people shielded.

This is not to downplay what has happened and the loss many people have faced but the scales have to tip eventually, if they haven’t already the other way.
