Time to move the family stand

The family stand is just too big and kills the energy in the stadium, it's time it was shifted to the upper tier wings, that end needs to dedicating to younger supporters,and made affordable, no disrespect to the regulars in there, but it just looks shite with the hundreds of no shows, a little bit of vision would work wonders for the whole atmosphere

Kills the energy is 100% right, it’s an atmosphere vacuum. Look back at matches from 10 years or so before, always more people in there, better crowd reactions after goals, more energy as you say. Imagine having a bit of noise coming from the opposite end of the stadium, we’d be much better off for it.

Dedicating an entire stand to 'families' is daft. Move them up to East stand tier 3, develop the North stand as a single tier, all-standing, 50% season card and 50% £30 pay on the day.

When you create numerous new hospitality areas/seats around the ground, and remove 1000’s of seats to replace them with larger electronic advertising boards, no wondering there is nowhere to move the family stand.

Give the family stand the front of SSL3. The kids will love climbing the stairs.

Do we need a family stand, just affordable seats for families around the ground would suffice, when City were struggling and introduced 95 quid season tickets for kids anywhere in the ground, it was a great idea, today the pricing began at 50 quid up to 70, those creating the prices are clueless

I would leave the family stand in the upper tier. But if the lower tier becomes standing, I wouldn't have any season ticket holders in it. Just make it £20 a ticket for under 18's only. On sale 2 weeks before the game. That would get that end rocking.

Completely agree about the pricing. Liverpool charge £9 for kids. I'm very keen that we encourage kids to attend regularly, as they'll be the future season card holders.

The question is, what does having the Family Stand do for kids above sticking them all over the ground? I guess it's a safe space mainly but the club's idea is to have a self-contained space that they can configure to be attractive to kids. That's going to be hard to find. The club originally suggested EL3 but it was pointed out that kids don't want to be stuck up there; they want to be close to the pitch and players. So the other alternative is to move it 'round the corner' to the corner of NS 1/EL102/3 area.

I guess a lot will depend on what we're ultimately going to do with the North Stand.

I agree. It’s not just the odd game now, there’s regularly lots of empty seats in the family stand. Night games in particular. What’s the point

a prime location in the ground and it’s regularly not full

make it into a home end and put Safe standing in. Then just make kids tickets affordable throughout the ground

It's a good idea, but the club dont allow under 14s to attend on their own, imagine the number of youngsters who would love to attend but can't due to cost circumstances and rules, I wouldn't have an age limit, just a price limit
