Time to move the family stand

Been saying this since the day it opened as the Family Stand. It was a terrible idea to create the stand in this form and it’s been a terrible stand for far too long now.

There was a much better feel to the stadium when it was just simply the North Stand and was just a load of old Maine Road Kippax and later North Stand lads who hadn’t realised that our singing area at the CoMS was meant to be the South Stand.

Fucking those fans off to create this bloody end we have now is the worst thing the club have done since we moved to that ground.

It’s only ever been full for end of season title lift games and the odd derby or Liverpool game. It’s never created an atmosphere for the second half of games when we’re shooting up that way.

It’s a lifeless soulless stand that needs ditching.
Making it transient, where pricing means families/kids who have grown up in there move out when they hit 18, away from the people they have been sat around for years, was a terrible idea as well

Are a load of adults in the south stand really failing to make much noise and refusing to sing because there are kids sat together 100 yards away?
The south stand is the only stand that makes any effort! If every other stand was as vocal we’d have the best atmosphere in England! The problem is that 3/4s of our ground are silent and the worst of those 3 is the family stand.

Fuck off. I'm in EL3 near the away fans and it's bad enough as it is with the tourists and their bags of souvenir spends. I need the ability to use most swear words known to man at each home game, which we get as the away fans are so close.

Unless you meant the other side of EL3 near to the North Stand, in which case I retract my 'fuck off'. :)
Ha ha ha!

They'd probably be best located in the Director's box.

Give the family stand the front of SSL3. The kids will love climbing the stairs.
This one pops up every time the family stand debate starts up.

Why the fuck should people like me be shifted to allow the family stand to relocate? It's more or less 100% SC holders not match day supporters and we are very happy up there. Wherever your seat is I'd suggest that they move it there!

Er...to help create an atmosphere maybe

Calm down. It was just a suggestion. I suggested other parts of the ground as well. Don’t worry, you and the other 100% season ticket holders won’t be moved.

If the club want to move the kids and their parents into 115 next to the away fans, fair enough. I’ll just relocate to the new signing section in NSL1.

Make the North Stand a full vocal end.

Put the Family Stand in SSL1 116-119. Everyone from SSL1 can move to the other end apart from any who like to wind up away fans and they can go in 115.

its not kids that will liven the place up. They wouldn’t be going without parents anyway.

it’s young adults - 18-30, who we need in the ground. Away games and cup games there’s loads of them, league games barely any, as most can’t afford it.

make the family stand into a home end and have a 18-30 category tickets that’s say £350 and it would change our entire ground and atmosphere
Now that’s an idea I could get behind

I do agree.. but we need a sustainable fan base so that those 18 year olds who will come and create the atmosphere do come from the 8-10 year olds from the Family Stand. It’s not easy and I was on a bit of a wind up with that comment before. Surely the club can look at other models maybe in Europe? From my own experience it just seemed to be seamless going from the Platt Lane with my old fella to the Kippax singing section with the lads and then to away games.

It’s more about the constant no shows rather than the sporadic no shows.
I may disagree with you there.. there seems to be hundreds of seats in the SSL3 every match. Maybe not the same people every week but that can be said for the FS as well.

In Germany it's both singing sections behind both goals I think we should follow that and I think Kippax "Corner" shouldn't be a proper singing section as its way to small to make any proper atmosphere and mostly gets outsung by the away support if it's any decent

Watch some goals back and some ‘fans’ don’t even get off their seat when a goal goes in.
Why do we need a family stand anyway? It’s not 1970s Kippax. I know kids generally want to be up close to the action, why not move it round to the corner of CB1, still lower level and sill get a good view of subs warming up but more importantly out of view of the Tv Cameras.

Agree that a full vocal end is a great idea.. who was the genius who decided to bi secting the stadiums most vocal support by sticking 3 tiers of away fans in between. Why can’t they we shoved off to the top of a few tiers out of the way unless there are logistical reasons in the stadium why we can’t do this ?
