Erling Haaland

Back up fella, I was explaining that we signed players with enormous talent BUT we paid those players a sensible and fair wage with the proviso that if and when they were successful they would be highly rewarded in terms of wages and contract length.

Haaland is an exceptional talent, we give him a good and fair contract but also tell him IF he is successful that contract will be torn up and a better improved deal will be forth coming , just like we did many times with Kun.

I would also add 400k a week is utter madness, KDB is on 300k plus and Sala wants 350k, they are Premier/International proven players.

Haaland , who I want badly is an exceptional talent, would a club offer him 400k a week, probably, will it be us? Not a chance, and rightly so, as explained before, he comes and continues scoring in this league he will get 400k but show you are as good in this league as in Germany.

I agree on us signing talented players, and that what they have won before is no metric that has ever mattered.

I disagree the club paid them wages that are any less than they could have got elsewhere or below market. As shown by the fact we have one of the highest wage bills. It is a myth that we have this magical wage structure that players come in on low wages. They come in at wages it takes to sign them, once they want to come, and it depends entirely on the player their level. And it is relative to ths overall package too, transfer fee etc, over the length of the initial contract.

I'd love to think the club would pay say 400k for a player like Haaland, but I think they would. As they did for Kane, reportedly. And I'd rather they paid it for Haaland than Kane, with half the transfer fee and all.

But if they also go for vlahovic at some 250k as well, all happy with that too.

They're just an aggregator, look at the source itself.
Di marzzo or whatever he is called....

He "reports" so much that doesnt come true that every now and again statistics say he has to get one right...but like most twatter/soical media reports/journos...they are guessing and just trying to promote themselves rather than any credible news stories

Has always felt the fans wanted haaland more than the club did tbh. I can't see it happening unless haaland says city or no-one and that is distinctly not the vibe right now.

I dont normally read the transfer thread because I believe that no one really knows what City are up to.

City are very much a team with a sensible wage structure. I would be wary of someone coming into City and breaking that structure, look at the scum !.

If Haaland comes to City I hope its within Citys wage structure, and he comes for football reasons.

I read today something on my phone news app that it's a two horse race between City and Barcelona ! Now I know it's to get clicks but Barca?!. I struggle to see how they can afford Torres let alone Haaland

Depends how you read the news, he is either playing hard to get hoping prem teams will increase what they would be willing to spend on him, Di Marzio still knows fuck all and is speculating/bullshitting or he really does fancy La Liga.

I don't think it a stretch to say La Liga is currently as weak as it has been for 20 years so the idea it holds all the appeal for him doesn't ring true. If it really does, fair enough, would seem strange but i am not arsed if he comes or not tbh so we shall see.

People taking Di Marzio opinion on something that isn’t Serie A-related: it’s that time of year...

The right vibe?

You mean the vibe emanating from every anti City establishment right now, desperate to deny us?

A panic vibe contrived and sent out through fear of us soon landing the biggest young talent in world football?

I believe we have a good chance of signing young Erling, certainly as good as anyone else, but that's just my humble opinion.

It's whether he wants to come here or not, and more importantly whether his avaricious agent can extort enough cash to satisfy his sheer greed.

Mino Raiola is rubbing his hands in glee at the anticipation of the smell of the biggest pile of cash he can raise after hawking his prized asset around Europe's elite like a sexy blond courtesan prostitute.

If he comes here great. If he doesn't well I'm still gonna make a brew and have a mince pie shortly, and I'll lose no sleep worrying whether we sign him or not.

The more the crying over us in the media, the more i need this kid up top. #pettybutgimme
