And we already close individual nightclubs and pubs when they present a social problem or a health and safety hazard.
 
Cannot imagine any political party would support such legislation, so it would never get through Parliament, and even if it somehow did, you could hardly backdate it to cover the pandemic's effects. The courts would then just be further clogged up with the government chasing unpaid bills, a cost that in turn would be borne by the public.

They bring the NHS to its knees on a daily basis. Get rid of those patients and we truly would save the NHS. However as I'm not a fascist I agree it is ridiculous - as is the suggestion of charging for or stopping treatment of the unvaccinated idiots.

we do. Cigs and booze have large Duty’s on them that help fund the NHS.

people unvaccinated have already rejected a preventative solution to the issue. Should the NHS foot the bill for more expensive solutions when individuals have rejected what is available?

alcoholic’s get offered help but won’t be given a liver transplant unless they prove the are over the drinking.

the obese are offered diets but won’t be give some treatments unless they lose weight.
Etc etc.

So fascism is now making people pay for something they could in all likelihood have avoided paying for. Who would have thought it? Silly statement.

Like I said before the smokers drinkers and obese pay far more in tax to fund the NHS than a normal person. It's all plannable numbers whereas covid infections is an instant effect that cripples straightaway

Yes generally people that don't smoke don't buy cigerattes (you know because they dont smoke) and don't require NHS treatment for smoking as they don’t smoke. I have no idea what your point is.
 
Bit surprised at no action seeing the hospital numbers over Christmas.

They have escalated dramatically and North West probably had the worst of it

England were 7366 patients Christmas Eve FELL to 7166 Christmas Day, Rose to 7536 Boxing Day and absoloutely went through the roof today adding 948 in 24 hours to 8474 today.

Big rises in most places but especially in London and North West. North West is now rising fast as London was last week and tracking in the same way.

Guess they are hoping this was a large daily one off due to the holidays and it may settle tomorrow. As it mght.

If it carries on at these numbers though things will change infortunately.

1281 - highest in months - were admitted ON Chrismas day.

Todays will probably eclipse that but admissions are 48 hours behind.

I wasn't making a political point, just that the public mood in England is much more sceptical towards additional restrictions as it appears to be in Scotland and Wales.

Perhaps those admitted to hoapital arnt as ill like the data from SA indicated. Didnt the data indicate that people were in hospital for significantly less time compared to delta?
