England hospital admissions over the Christmas weekend (these are 48 hours behind the other data so Fri - Sat - Sun - Mon) are:- 1020 - 1281 - 1374 - 1751

We need to hope this steady rise slows or flattens off in coming days.

The last 8 days have been over 1000 after many weeks before that without any such totals.

On Monday (in the 1751) London admitted 437, Midlands 309, NE & Yorkshire 244 and North West 260 All highest in some time.

Any other data I will post on the data thread but these are the key hospital numbers to watch.

I should add Scotland also added over 100 patients too in the long weekend (536 to 679).But ventilator icu beds there are still low also. Just 36 in total despite nearly 16,000 cases added today

So room for optimism.

But not FOR covid. They will be being primarily treated for somthing else.
Unless we know the full facts on hospitalisation for vaccinated /unvaccinated and for/with Covid we will never escape from this pandemic.

Both of those are already available.

Because it makes a difference in how dangerous we believe the new variant to be. If you make a headline saying 40% increase in hospitalisation with Covid and shit people up it's being used out of context.
I get what you and jazzy are saying, so I’m not exactly debating against you here (and it’s also why I don’t follow the media narrative because they just try and shit people up anyway). But unless our actual employment is on the data, why do any of us need to know what the exact stats are?

We know there are only a certain number of beds and there are a certain number of people being treated for Covid, or other things while having Covid, or things other than Covid - but Covid being a massive contributor to the numbers - meaning there are only a certain number of beds left. However many that is doesn’t make any difference to me or you as we don’t need to know.

We wouldn’t ask exactly how many people are being treated in hospital or have died in road traffic collisions when a road’s speed limit is reduced from 40 to 30. We just know it’s safer on the road with the lower speed limit which will decrease the chances of others needing treatment or dying.

At the moment, we know that the hospital figures are low enough that we don’t need further restrictions. So let’s just enjoy life to the extent we can while it’s like this.

The main thing we should be debating about isn’t what the “for Covid” or “with Covid” figures are, but why there are only the number of beds or ventilators or specific wards there are within the NHS.

The NHS should be managed better and invested in better and that’s where the pressure in our demand should be - are things going to change around this?

But WITH covid. That is the important point and the one that matters when discussing hospitals. It spreads from people to people inside buildings, therefore people who find themselves in hospital will catch it so long as others in there have it. Ergo - being in hospital WITH covid is the problem.

Let's get all psychological and get into the minds of an antivaxxer. They say they don't want the jab as it might make them ill or it has a microchip in it or what ever bullshit reason they say. Now that last sentence is all about "me" not for one second have they considered the effect on others. it's almost a narcissistic mentality. They never think I'd better get a vaccine otherwise my neighbour might die or be financially crippled. That to me shows their mental capacity and defines them as just selfish arsholes. Very similar to Liverpool fans.
that's your experience of some antivaxxers, not antivaxxers as a collective.

Besides, there's nothing more selfish than "inject this so I can avoid lockdowns or I hope you die without NHS treatment", which is essentially the counter position on here.

Full data on the numbers thread and will post more there after the match.

But thought you would want to know today was the day North West overtook London - 23,842 cases V London's 22,727.

London has been flat round there for days. NW Has just been going up and up.

Greater Manchester had nearly 10,000 cases on its own.

There it is again the "I" it's always about themselves even when talking about someone else

‘this new variant is fine, let’s all just get on with our lives’

Number of COVID patients in English hospitals up 48% in a week

A total of 10,462 people were in hospital in England with COVID-19 as of 8am on 29 December - an increase of 916 on Tuesday.
You really are a fucking bore Mark. You only post negative (or what you think are negative) headlines, primarily as you’ve said you don’t want to be force to go back into work rather than working from home.

There’s currently no data suggesting we should be worried about omicron, especially for those triple vaccinated.
