Hers a clue. Manchester City Football Club is in Manchester, England. Why would the default be from posters to be from another country.

One minute the “hard men” of this forum are trying to build knuckle dragged reputations and then next, this thread is populated with Scousers wanting sympathy off everyone because they’ve been asked to show their phone to a steward for 2 seconds to ge into a game!
Even if it was only that, it would still be wrong.

There are a few more restrictions in Scotland ,but it's hardly a lockdown , nor it seems particularly putting off visitors from England, my coffee shop has been heaving with them today and the holiday properties we manage are also all full.
Just finished two pubbing trips to Scotland, Ayrshire and Edinburgh. 20 odd pubs, no problems at all with masks inside and table service in any of them. Pubs ticking over but well down on what I'd have expected but I guess that is general fear of catching Covid rather than resistance to minor restrictions.

Some seem very quick and eager to forget that government policy, the lockdowns, restrictions and harm to businesses and citizens are based in these numbers.

Dare to ask for context behind them and you are immediately shot down and dismissed for doing so.

Forget case numbers, it’s now meaningless propaganda
Your final sentence contradicts your opening remarks or may be I misunderstand. It is the interpretations of the data, rather than the data itself that you might argue with. That's frequently my position.

I think there are a number of people that will miss the drama of it when this thread is finally binned. I’ll mention no names.
on both ‘sides’ in fairness

Does anyone know somebody that has more than a sniffle who has caught it recently? I must know at least 30 people who have had it in the last 2 weeks, including older vulnerable and not one has been slightly ill. This is definitely a totally virus to what we have seen before, almost everyone I know who had it in previous waves were at least bed bound for a couple of days.

One poster’s wife is an emergency care nurse. A pregnant young woman died recently of Covid on her ward. These deaths are rare but not to be dismissed.

I know maybe 10 this month. 3 have been pretty bad 1 was in bed for over a week, another takes a few mins to recover there breath ( sounds like he’s so out of breath he’s gonna be sick ) after waking down the stairs 3 weeks in. Apparently he’s infinitely better than he was. Personally I’d have said he needed oxygen but was too stubborn and wanted to deal with it himself.

another is a work colleague who could barley breath enough to explain why he needed to go off sick the week before Xmas.

edit. All over 60. 1st I think they are jabbed. 3rd is jabbed and boosted.

Having been dragged out to the Trafford centre this afternoon I now understand why the cases are jumping so quickly.
I'm would be surprised if more than 50% of the people in there had masks on, uncovered faces everywhere and as for the pricks who walk around with a mask under the chin WTF.
I understand that so people have medical exemptions but fuck me not this many people. I honestly think people don't give a fuck anymore and can't be arsed even trying.

Wankers everywhere.

The mask under the chin could be a fashion statement;)

The ONS Infection survey shows that the epidemic is falling in London. They don't headline that but if you compare their last two infection surveys you can see the changes.

Edit: I didn't realise but the data is only 1 day apart...13th to 19th, and this one is for the 20th Dec.It's only 1 day's change so maybe not that significant but Omicron and Delta rates fall in London between the 19th and 20th Dec

I must know about 30 people who have tested positive over the last 2 weeks. Mainly 20-40 year old city centre dwellers but my 75 year old nan has tested positive this week. Tripple jabbed thankfully and so far nothing much but fatigue. She’s pretty vulnerable as she’s asthmatic and has had pneumonia in the past so a) hoping it’s omicron and b) the vaccines do their thing and she recovers quickly. To be honest when I ask how she is she just says ‘bored’ so that’s probably a good sign!

Wonder if the ones who were more poorly had Delta? Pretty sure most of the ones I know was Omicron judging by symptoms of slight sore throat and back ache. Plus they all caught it at the same handful of social events.

Anyhow I can take a hint. Good look arguing with the devil that he got it wrong because this was supposed to only impact the bad guys.
It's bollocks. It's just more politics. Imagine having to convince everyone that the counting of chickens before they've hatched is obviously the way forward.

Right now. After two years of setbacks. And cases higher than ever.

(I await the oh-so-urgent and oddly argumentative replies with bated fucking breath I really do)

Just politics.

I had thought the same. There is certainly a lot of both around.
