Erling Haaland

Think city will know by now where and what Haaland wants.
He’ll have a preference but I doubt he would actually mind between a few clubs depending on how the conversations and offers play out

City won’t know what it will actually take until the negotiations begin for real. For now we like most other clubs will have crazy numbers from raiola testing his arm but mostly ensuring the range is set high from the start

When people say they don't think we have the right people to get the deal over the line or they aren't convinced it can happen cos of other clubs are they ok... We have some of the best if not the very best people behind the scenes running our football club we can easily get anybody we truly want no questions... if we would've wanted Messi the summer just gone then PSG wouldn't have had a bloody sniff, if we want Haaland as our number one priority which I hope we do then I honestly don't think any other club has a chance in the slightest including Real Madrid, cos we will go out of our way and push the boat out like we did with Aguero Silva or Yaya, people act as if we're scared to pay high wages we were making Yaya the highest paid midfielder in world football we were going the extra mile to get talents like Silva and Aguero.
We wanted that Muppet Harry Kane he'd have been on 400k plus no doubt about it I'm glad we don't want him now if that's defo the case far better options

We were willing to offer 300k a week more for Messi a year earlier than PSG but Messi rubbed us up the wrong way by backing down and ruining our plans last season to concentrate on him. We pay very high agent fees too another strange thing people question when asking if this can happen we literally pay as much as anyone else does, they're nitpicking at something that isn't a reality there's no problems as far as if we can do it... if we really want somebody there's no club at this moment in time who can compete with us as the whole package from a pure football point of view and what we're willing to pay for the right player... There's not a player I'd want more right now than Erling Haaland but if he rejects us, then as already said by many others on here clearly his first love isn't football.

Fuck Real Madrid and their history they'd have won fuck all in Europe without the introduction of the champions League era, and the cash grab by Western European league clubs who all cried in the old fairer era whenever a team like Steaua or red star would give them a pasting and win it.
That greed by the top brass cartel to create the UCL era is why they brought in FFP too they couldn't handle us muscling in and ruining their party, they brought in FFP to try and push back against us and attempt to completely ruin us and anyone else who thought about challenging them, do you think our owners don't want us to absolutely dominate in Europe after that even more so they'll be baying for blood, it fuels a desire in a club like us us to become the very best that we can be in all areas and sign the best too, we aren't messing about just look at CFG the plan is global domination and we will arrive at that destination at some point cos we're fucking inevitable... now get Haaland signed he is possibly the key ingredient in our melting pot of talent that we've already got here.

They will know £65m buyout they know dad agent want 20m each they will have a rough idea that Haalands wages will be around 25m a year!

They will know over 5 years it will cost us between 250m/300m which we can afford! All it’s down to is if Haaland really wants to come to us because an extra 50/100k a week at such a young age won’t mean that much.

Because it’s a transfer forum and discussion. What do you want from it? Just the picture of the subject player holding up his new club shirt.
Every topic would have just one post..
You think there'd only be one post in a thread with a picture of Haaland holding up a City top?

Real (and Barca) have their own TV deals, rather than the shared deals elsewhere, and have the banks in their back pocket.

We sometimes forget, the Real in Real Madrid is meaningful in Spain, which gets them the special treatment!

There will never be a level playing field in football, no matter how their friends at UEFA try to manufacture one for them to look “equal.”

That would be not in the transfer forum. My post is a reply to someone saying why post if it’s not a done deal. This page would exist if that were the case.

I'm trying to keep my expectation as low as possible, so it will not hurt me too much if the transfer didn't happen.
I understand the sentiment but, really, it’s not the best attitude to have. Just take whatever happens. Pessimism doesn’t wear well

lives his life on social media and thinks everyone is interested in him, his career and what he has to say which for me makes him the antithesis of a Pep player
Sort of noticed that side to him. He might not be ideal for the dressing room. 21, won nothing, bigger ego than the lads who have put together those huge winning runs, won the battles, fought the adversity and collected the trophies?

Fck knows why Alf and Raiola seemingly need to do another circus tour around Europe. If Haaland himself can't see that City are the place to be and he wants to create an auction he can do one.
There is no tour. Raiola will visit many countries during this month as he is an agent during a transfer window and does business regarding a number of players to take care. Of course it won’t stop people from using buzz words like “circus” and “whoring around”. But it’s standard stuff

I honestly cannot tell if this kind of bullshit is irony going over my head or being said straight?

Yeah Raiola will be in plenty of places but when Twitter is full of photos of him sat next to Alf in Barcelona, Madrid and so on. What is that, just them two sharing a cab to save some money?

This whole thing is a circus, every day there are reports about X, Y and Z.

If Haaland wanted to be here we would know by now. How hard is the decision seriously, the fact it seems he is even contemplating a new contract from Dortmund just to hang on for Real is ridiculous.

Haaland’s instagram is basically the standard footballer instagram. Nothing shocking there as probably every post goes through a staff of publicists for either approval or design — again, like every footballer.

Seriously, compare his feed to KdB’s. It’s the same stuff (at home, pictures playing for the club, when it’s vacation time just showing where they are etc). His stories are pretty ordinary as well, nothing special.

He has actually won more than 90% of our players had before we signed them.

Just saying.

Not that that matters imo, and turn up your nose at how you perceive his attitude all well, but get the detail right.

unpopular opinion - but we should also try and sign players that aren't 100% sure if they prefer playing here or another big team if that player is good enough. it's a very bad strategy to not even challenge in the transfer market for any player who might consider his options first before deciding.

Cmon with this crap. A, it is not every day. It happened a year and a half ago, once recently when he met with the barcelona guy in hotel they were both at for whatever reason. And that was it. I didn't like seeing it myself, particularly as it was during a season, but it isnt a daily occurance.

That isn't a 'circus', it is an overreaction.

I agree though, if he wanted to be here, we would know. And if we did, it wouldn't in any way stop the specalulation and following anyway.

They visited Barcelona at some point before last summer and Laporta set paparazzi to catch them outside the airport to talk up Barcelona’s place in the transfer. That was last summer. They were hearing about projects. Let me know if it happens again

The “reports” you are talking about are almost all made up. Are they any different from the one thousand stories about Kane in the summer pushed by all sides? There was a new story literally every day. On Grealish, it was similar (but resolved earlier). These are how big transfers work. They’re opportunity for the media to get clicks and views. Stuff will be made up! No one can control it.

I also don’t see how we would know his decision by now? They are not going to announce it to the world when he still has half a season at his current club. I also haven’t heard that he’s contemplating staying at Dortmund another season. They will sit down to talk this month. Of course his club will present will put an offer on the desk. Do you want him to not even give them a meeting? And we don’t know what his stance will be at such meeting. Raiola said in an interview something like “I’m not saying he won’t stay at Dortmund”, which we can read a number of ways (including that it’s true), but above all just seems respectful to me. It’s certainly much more respectful than how Vlahovic’s agent has been acting

I have no doubt we have tried but if what we have offered is not enough then good luck to him. What more does he want, the undisputed number one striker for one of the best clubs in Europe under the best manager in the world as well as a very handsome paypacket.

If the sun and tapas is more important then best of luck to him.

I agree, but it’s not even true that we don’t do that. Again, we presented Lukaku with an offer that he turned down for not wanting to come. We didn’t ask him “Mr. Lukaku, do you want to come?” first lol. You can also talk transfers like KdB’s and others as example, as well as youth players

Your sentiment is correct but as for the last part, I want to repeat that there is no evidence that is the case
