We need to hope the majority of their squad side with Tuchel over Lukaku, but I’m not convinced that will happen at Chelsea. Arsenal’s squad clearly backed Arteta v Aubameyang and they’ve been galvanised. Will Chelsea be the same? I doubt it. We need anything but a Liverpool win but I have no faith in Chelsea to deliver.

think the difference is the majority in that Arsenal squad know Auba doesn't give a shit about playing for them. You can't argue that Lukaku doesn't try when he plays so more players are likely to be on side with him, particularly given how good he's been elsewhere.

Are you actually suggesting that Chelsea have done this to assist Liverpool in winning the title?

There was talk that the timing of the release of the interview by Sky Italy was to destabilise Chelsea before this game. By taking him out of the squad, I guess that mission has been accomplished. Or maybe he just thinks he is a lump and won't be missed, I suppose.

Either way, if they lose, could be trouble for Tuchel.

Didn't know Ole had for himself a job at the bridge. Good for him, keeping busy now Christmas is done.

On the bright side if they don’t side with Tuchel then we’ll only have the scousers to worry about longer term.

With AFCON and a decent January for City, we may not need to worry about anyone.

There are one or two psychologists who are members who may provide some pro bona time.

I saw somewhere that there were some players that were unhappy with Lukaku, and somewhere else that the board were also unhappy with Lukaku.

So Tuchel probably isn't going to cause a stir with this move.

They are reported to have had a meeting to discuss the interview. It looks like Lukaku may have added fuel to the fire…..

Not sure this will weaken Chelsea too much today tbh. Lukaku was anonymous against the dippers at their place just like he was against City at the Bridge. I wouldn’t call him a flat track bully as such, but he does seem to suffer when up against a CB like van dijk or Dias who won’t be bullied. It’s clever movement and pace troubles the bin dips, not raw strength.
