Swindon Town (A) - FA Cup 3rd Round | Post Match Thread

Was enjoying the commentary until I thought I heard Matterface explain to McCoist that Swindon was home to Englands oldest public library. I think Chethams might have something to say about that. So stop this petty arguing about how many fa cups there have been and let burn down Swindon trying to steal our history.

Like Swindon good decent team, really like Palmer shame whole evening was ruined by the library thing.
Probably explains why so many of our players got booked.

Matterface claimed that Swindon had the oldest public lending library in England. It’s Chethams in Manchester. Matterface also claims to be an impartial pundit. I emailed the library in Swindon and….it’s closed.

As a Swindon fan, may I say 1.thanks for bringing your full quota of fans. 2.thanks for fieiding a properly decent team. 3.thanks for letting our 90's raver score and.4.If your not gonna play him, can we have C. P. on loan for the rest of the season
We always take full quota, in Europe or domestic to be fair.

We had 6000 at West Ham on a Wednesday night for a 0-0 in the league cup 2nd round not long ago.

But no worries, thought your boys did well tonight and defended well.

Hope yous go up.

yeah I thought that but it wasn’t, it was the 100th. Btw I was in east stand upper for the replay, couldn’t get a ticket for Saturday. Paid £7 to some local lads outside Maine Road on the
But but but, didn't they have t-shirts printed saying otherwise?
Think the one in 1981 was the 100th at Wembley. The FA cup was not always played there.
No…. It wasn’t the 100th at Wembley, it was the 100th final ever…

Was anybody stuck in that crush outside the away turnstiles 15 minutes before kick off?

completely shambolic organisation by an amateur tin pot club and a total dereliction of duty by a disgraceful police force who stood by watching not giving a fuck

could have got dangerous but instead a few hundred blues missed the first 20 minutes and probably all caught covid
On behalf of the amateur tinpot club, please don't bother coming again, should the situation arise. For all the other nice comments, thanks.

3 minutes. And youve got it Ive got it but I did say put a mask on and back off an inch

I thought Matterface was the north face of a mountain on the Swiss-Italian border?
This one is the unacceptable face of football punditry…that excruciating commentary during the last Euro finals. Needs to be sent to the Swiss-Italian border (aka Naughty Step) until he matures. Bye Bye Matterface.

Enjoyed watching that. Did what we had to early enough, Palmer was special hopefully he features more in the second half of the season, he's a special player.

Fair play to Swindon Town, they had a go, they played with more balls then most of the Premier League sides we play.

Oh and NO more penalties for Gabby, that was woeful.
Fixed for you

Some useless Stfc/ Man City connections.2 Summerbee's, a Horlock, Shay Given, James Milner - and wasn't Nicky Hammond involved at one time?

I may be wrong but the criticism may have been penned by one of the generation of supporters who didn't experience (enjoy) the hassles we had getting into grounds in the 1950/1960s when we paid at the gate. Just ignore the criticism and take comfort in the fact that our club paid you RESPECT by bringing as many of our elite players as the virus allowed us. Quite a few other clubs would have fielded their youth teams as they have little (or no) respect for lower league teams.
