City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Kpmg being our auditor and City having confirmed the figures (and releasing them publicly in the next week) - and United’s being already publicly available says it IS a story
Not comparing like with like if sponsor payments are deferred for one club and not the other, empty grounds not being usual either, plus KPMG have been massively discredited this week unlike City's actual auditors BDO.

We are well behind this financial year no doubt.

Simply not true and the same for any business.

We are in a very fortunate position where the majority owner is not involved with us for profit but to substantially increase his investment long term, as long as we are self financing all is good.

We are in a unique and fortunate position, Roman at Chelsea has put fortunes into the club, but as loans and IF he sells he would probably want those loans repaying in full.
Cash generated from operations to fund transfers is likely the most important metric for a football club. This is of course driven by turnover and key costs such as player wages.

Profit is meaningless as a football club doesn't or shouldn't (cough cough, Glaziers) exist to turn a profit.

I’m right and I’ll say the key point again, profit most certainly isn’t king in football. Especially so at City. Especially so in the age of FFP where turnover is key.

I'm not sure how meaningful "overtaking Utd" actually is ... because it covers a time when they didn't have 75000 Irish / Welsh / tourists / Londonders in their stadium every other week.

But even if our turnovers are only similar, it raises the question again of why they are constantly moaning about not being able to compete with us.

Fact is, they can (and do) spend every bit as much as us ... they just keep finding people like Sanchez, Pogba, Schweinsteiger, Depay, etc, etc who seem to give up on football as soon as they arrive. Even someone with the self confidence & drive of Ronaldo seems a bit out of sorts now he's wearing their shirt ? It's weird, but great for us City fans to see !
Most likely the fumes from the swamp

Agree - cash generated to cover the cost of the squad (wages + amortised fee's) is the key factor all clubs will look at. Wages are a bigger cost than fees now and will continue to be.

The above assumes that all other costs are accounted for. For the likes of the rags the owners are draining money out and that is a massive problem for them. In addition you have paying for infrastructure and historic debt. When you factor all those things in we get a tick in every box, we dont have any of these problems.

The teams that can tick these box's; us, PSG, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are in a very strong position.

with so much money now lets extend the north stand, we might not fill it but it will look well smart then.

yeah i personally think doing that and doing alot of external comestic work on the stdium would be a priority to be honest as it would ram home that we want to have the best of everything? Really dont think they will build a brand new one but the etihad needs to be made one of the best with the north stand expanded (hopefully a single tier wall type) and the whole exterior LED wrapped to really stand out.

The c*nts can't write a positive headline about City without having a sly dig. It's a continual war of attrition against City.

What has Ferguson and the noisy neighbours got to do with the article?

Charlie Walker - the Daily United.

The noisy neighbours have invested in their house whilst the foolish grumps have sat on their hands hoping and spraying the cash on tat.
