My mistake, but I read it on the BBC, so assumed it was right. It was Hemp, not Park.

Too many of the team are programmed for a safety first in most situations. It is very frustrating to watch a team create a promising attack only for the ball to be sent back. We had more players than most recent games who appeared to relish the idea of driving the ball through, but we do waste promising situations by taking the foot off the pedal, often when it's not necessary. We have looked a lot stronger since a few came back and we changed the keeper but still very wasteful - this game should have been over way before they scored. Taylor has his defenders far too negative with often the ball going back from good positions. They made better subs and once again the biggest worry for the team is the fact that Ellen White is so poor for us. Bunny and Stanway did a lot of the hard yards and when White & Coombs came on we conceded far too much space. Also Stokes looks a yard off the pace and has a very poor first touch.
Overall a chance to get close to CL qualification missed. No matter where we end up this year Taylor is not a good manager and they should change it for next season.
It is.I see we've scored another controversial goal according to the BBC. I thought that when a ball hits the referee play is only stopped if posession passes to the other team.
Apologies it was Bronzes poor header, not Houghton. It was Houghton's poor header that started it, three chances to clear it after that too.
That's what I thought, but, hey, this is The Arse, and we should all be playing the game according to the Islingtonian Laws of the Game, or whichever team turns up. I thought the ref, for once, had a decent game, apart from the shit the Arse players were heaping on her after we scored and before they kicked off! Can't understand why at least three of 'em were not booked. Compare the behaviour of our girls when they scored!I see we've scored another controversial goal according to the BBC. I thought that when a ball hits the referee play is only stopped if posession passes to the other team. It didn't, so where's the contoversy?
They don’t play to her strengths, so I don’t blame Bunny Shaw I blame that pleb Gareth Taylor.Good for her. I must have caught her on a bad day. The movement for the goal was good but apart from that she struggled albeit against a quality CB.
Yeah, I counted three chances to hoof it onto a training pitch. It was Houghton's poor header that started it, three chances to clear it after that too.
She wouldn't be too careful, though, having picked up the first yellow! Perhaps he had that in mind. She might have started mixing it in no man's land as The Arse started to pile on the pressure!Taking Stanway off lost all the impetus.
I haven't been watchi g then this season, because of Taylor. They don’t play to her strengths, so I don’t blame Bunny Shaw I blame that pleb Gareth Taylor.
good summary there. The only thing I would add is about 10 mins into the second half we contrived to put ourselves under pressure for a few mins when the Arse could have scored - due to the ridiculous obsession of playing out from the back even when its not possible. The game should have been over.
Park and Hemp missing chances good strikers score from. Both tore Arsenal full backs apart time and time again but we just didn't convert the chances.
A sky panel full of Arsenal apologists reckon it was a fair result. Well I fucking don't, I thought we were robbed of a deserved 3 points and wonder what game they were watching as their keeper made save after save whilst our young kid in nets had next to fuck all to do.
The fucking whingeing from Arsenal manager and panel who rather than admit they don't know the rules choose to poor scorn on the ref for allowing the game to carry on whilst making their own interpretations of the rules up as they went to justify why it should have been disallowed was particularly laughable. The only mistake the ref made was booking Hempo for being badly fouled, then getting up and being shoulder barged by the same cunty Arsenal player.
The Derby return might be a bit tasty this year. All to play for anyway for the ladies and we're starting to show form now we have some players back. Ellie soon hopefully!
I did laugh when that happened and said to the guy next to me that that was the default in situations like that. Hemp objected to the foul perpetrated on her, got another four pennorth from the Arse thug, and got booked for her troubles. Dreadful refereeing!. . . . . . The only mistake the ref made was booking Hempo for being badly fouled, then getting up and being shoulder barged by the same cunty Arsenal player.

I actually think she's done really well at right back whenever she's played there - certainly better than Lucy Bronze was yesterday, it was the worst I've seen her play.I haven't seen as much of the women's team as I would like lately. But it appears Janine Beckie hasn't been playing much. I know we have a number of good players but she seems to make good things happen when she does play.
playing out from the back depends on skill(obvs) but even more on movement off the ball, showing for the ball at exactly the right moment, and knowing what to do with it when it comes. The vindication for it is keeping possession, a lump away sees the ball straight back more often than not, a kick out of touch is a better option imo, throw-ins rarely cause trouble and a respite in order to reset. Specific training drills are essential; the women's team are well behind the youth teams in this from what i can see, again, in my humble opinion.good summary there. The only thing I would add is about 10 mins into the second half we contrived to put ourselves under pressure for a few mins when the Arse could have scored - due to the ridiculous obsession of playing out from the back even when its not possible.
3 reasons the game would be stopped after hitting the referee, none of which applied.I see we've scored another controversial goal according to the BBC. I thought that when a ball hits the referee play is only stopped if posession passes to the other team. It didn't, so where's the contoversy?
Agree. Always thought that Lucy Bronze was overrated and her performance against Arsenal was truly dreadful. The usual shambolic failure to boot the ball into Row Z cost us a victory.I actually think she's done really well at right back whenever she's played there - certainly better than Lucy Bronze was yesterday, it was the worst I've seen her play.
