Russian invasion of Ukraine

I assume you haven't read the whole thread or failed to understand its content. His day job is immaterial - he has drawn together information facts and figures declared by the Tory Party and individual MP's declarations - if the truth offends you then don't read it.

I read it. Some Russians donated money to the Tory party and some individual MP causes. No disputing that fact.

What is the relevance to the Russian/Ukraine situation given you posted it in a thread on the subject? Something about how our government has been brought by the Russians - bloody looooool and you think I have an aversion to the truth?

You have to understand it's a global conspiracy. Putin, trump, farage and Boris are all in it together with qanon, GB news prince Andrew and Joe Rogan.

Grown men and their ego's, what a waste of time and money this cock waving is when there are much more important things to be doing.
I think they do it to keep people busy and ensure the arms industry continues to do a roaring trade. It was more worrying when the ruskies all didn’t have a pot to piss in. Nothing to lose. Now all the power people are loaded and live luxury lifestyles. It’s a strange world this one. No one ever learns from previous mistakes.

why have Russians done that? Ask yourself that? What does a foreign person seek to gain other than influence

Will we be sending the troops currently driving ambulances or those helping with the clear up from storm Arwen? Maybe we will redeploy those already on deployment - there is a limit in what you can do with 80k troops that you seem to think can fix everything

Even if we sent 100, it’s the fact that Russia would have to think twice about attacking British troops rather that absolute number and their use in a war.

Erm no, not really. The British Army is so depleted these days Nato no longer considers it fit for active front line operations. Recent analysis of military power in Europe has drawn the conclusion the Army would be ineffective against the Russians, and the Russians know it.

Yeah you’ve completely missed my point. Have another think.

Define ineffective?

It's not a tin pot dads army you know, it's a serious fighting machine. Even if we had to go head to head with them they'd get a lot more than a bloody nose, but we wont go head to head with them they will be fighting NATO in all probability.

Now nobody wants a war and IMHO opinion least of all Putin who would destroy his own country by doing so.

Foreign people cannot donate to any political party directly. They have to be a registered UK voter or donate via a UK company. The “Russians” (all three of them that made the vast majority of the donations, out of a country of 144m) two have publicly been strong critics of Putin and the other her husband possibly has some tentative links but has denied any of the money has come from Russian investments. But this just muddies the waters, think about it logically - the UK has been a very strong critic of Russia, particularly since Salisbury, it would seem this £2m in total hasn’t really yielded any “Russian Influence” has it?

If you really want to question any country about undue Russian influence you should start with Germany. The Russian state are rascals of that I have no doubt - but these individuals don’t have any real links to the state that make you think hmmmm.

Do you think the Labour Party are being influenced by the Chinese? To follow ypur logic; Gardiner has accepted £500k from Christine Lee, and employed her son as his diary secretary (this was a pretty stupid thing to do), she’s also been called out as a Chinese spy. Corruption or innocent?

I’ve read some shit on here over the years but this is a belter.

NATO doesn’t consider British forces fit for front line operations lol.

You made that up didn’t you? There are currently 800 UK troops in Estonia as part of NATO’s enhanced forward presence which kind of tells me you did!!

76k currently, with a view to reducing further. Give it another decade and we will have more people attending No.10 parties than in the Army.

The Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace, announced on March 22 that the army will be reduced to 72,500 by 2025. This is set out in the Defence in a Competitive Age command paper.

This means the existing target of 82,000 personnel, set in 2015, has been scrapped.
