While I agree with the French league not on levels, it's still a great league for development. Maybe another year is fine, but depends on his quality as well, could argue Zinchenko's path via Eredivisie was worse, but he stuck around and look now, hard to tell how Pep rates quality in a player.
He must have a battalion of contacts that he trusts, in Europe and South America, comments/assessments compiled on a data-base for each player, ever-changing. Full-time job sorting and chasing up, for more than one bod
Sometimes, it doesn't work out, Bony and Mangala for instance, but the gems we have far out-weigh the duds. Character seems very important, "cocky" outspoken types are not on the menu, or someone that puts self before team. When he leaves, his entourage will go with him, a potential blackhole that his replacement will need to fill. Hopefully VK is building his back-room support to a level where he can be a legitimate candidate.

is that Madrid tweet a reaction to the alleged Mbappe change of heart?
I don’t know what tweet you are referring to, but I was referring to him saying Madrid will sign Mbappe and Haaland — what a coincidence as he absolutely hates us and PSG. When Neymar was moving to PSG, even after clubs had personally agreed to the transfer, he personally tried to stop him from leaving La Liga. We will get it done

The weirdest ever.
I see he has now played in 5 different countries on loan for us.
Spain Brazil Portugal Belgium Mexico over 7 clubs scoring less than 10 goals in total.
Is he really that bad?
Colombian Patrick Roberts . He was one of the hottest player in 2016 but fuck knows what happened to him . He is talented no doubt about it but it’s a mystery why some don’t cut at highest level .

he any good?
He's rubbish. I bet we have a 5mil Brazilian somewhere in the academy who's on his level. Paying him 30mil would be an enormous mistake considering we need to save every penny for Haaland.

wrecked his knee at Deportivo de La Coruna, kinda derailed the Marlos train
edit: however, if you check transfermarkt it claims he only missed a month with an ankle injury ... which kinda prods memories of him coming back really fast from a 'horrific' 'knee-buckling' incident ... hmm, maybe too fast? maybe the true extent was masked? hmmm
