Based on what?
I am friends with a fan of his formative club here in Brazil, based on the state that he visits a lot with the family, and that fan says he talks about it in the visits. I don’t think a year playing in Brazil means he has to give up having a life in England like some do. But I’m not guessing either way

“While Alvarez has the opportunity to show that he can be a part of the set-up at the Etihad next season, City still intend to sign a striker to belatedly replace Aguero after failing to do so last summer when they went after Harry Kane following Dortmund's clear stance that Haaland was not for sale.”

This just implies yet again that the club would have gone after Haaland and not Kane last summer if not for Dortmund

"The club gave me players and I'm always delighted - and it's then what we can do together. Maybe if we had a proper striker we would play with a striker but with the players we have we have to adapt." Pep (on not signing Kane in the summer).

The false 9 won't always be the way forward, it is the preference now because of the team we have.

Are you seriously analysing newspaper speculation for insight?

Yet if it proves effective in terms of winning the two main prizes, then what’s to say he won’t persist with it and buy other players whom he can mould more effectively?

Without the ability of securing Kane, and also with Torres and Delap being injured for virtually all of the season, we were forced down this reoad.

No-one can sign him until summer can they, so that tweet, like so many, must be absolute bollocks.

My understanding is that no one can register him with their football association but anyone could potentially go into contract now to agree a transfer to take place in the next window.

iirc The transfer windows are about the transfer of registrations between associations but agreements to transfer players at a future date can be entered into between clubs at any time?

Happy to be corrected by clever people if I’ve gone off at a tangent.

What I find interesting is the 'big named strikers in football Neymar, Mbappe, Messi, Haaland to name a few. All seem to want to avoid playing in the so called best league in the world, the premier league.

It cant just down to the British weather !.

It cant be the wages.

Ronaldo has come back and is finding the league alot tougher than he properly thought it was. The only world class striker is I guess Salah, but he isnt really an out and out striker.

Do these strikers want an easy life and not to prove themselves on a weekly basis ?
I mean when I saw Neymar, Mbappe and Messi at the Etihad, I forgot they were on the pitch, looked no where near as good of their hype.

The premier league can attract top players in every other position apart from the top strikers. Odd.

Haaland is not avoiding the PL. Messi was open to coming two summers ago

I’m just posting something that supports a point I made several times and was told couldn’t possibly be the case.

But if Messi was so keen to try his skills in the premier league he could have forced thought a deal or given have come this season.

Haaland might come to the premier league you are correct. I just think he wont !

Sequence of Spanish media circus-

Real will sign Haaland
Real can't sign Haaland and Mbbape in the same window
Real will sign him in 2023
Barca got the money to sign him
Real out of the race w/ City having 80% chance of signing him
Barca half ruined can't sign him
Real can sign both Mbbape and Haaland

No matter what the media says, I insist: he will not go to Real Madrid this summer. It’s basically information at this point.

Hasn't his boat sailed after his signing for Chelsea fiasco ?

Apart from penalties surely we have players who can do the job without him.
Pretty sure Laporte agreed to join before changing his mind and then joining the following season.

Cant see where we’d fit a Jorginho in anyway. People were bugging this guy up for a ballon d’or and he’d only get minutes for us in the domestic cups.

If we don’t renew Fernandinho I’d prefer to see Lavia/Gundogan share that role behind Rodri
