Russian invasion of Ukraine

It's a fair point and well made, but in terms of expansion compare Russia/USSR and NATO over the last 30 yrs and then consider who is expanding, intimidating or being aggressive.
Erm NATO doesn’t rule any of the countries that sign up to it nor impinge on their security.

You’re comparing apples and Vauxhalls.

Reports of explosions across major cities in Ukraine including Kyiv.

Haven't seen anything but reputable sources reporting it.

Oh look, the KGB have foiled a terrorist attack in The Crimea which most definitely wasn’t a false flag.

Russia will have gone insane if they launch war on regions outside the "separatist" regions, they will clearly win but at great cost of life on both side. The long term consequences from the world could ruin them.

Again just reports but this looks like it's going down now. Not just in Kharkiv and Donetsk but the whole of the Ukraine.

It looks like Russia has invaded and declared war on Ukraine.

Apparently Putin is threatening to strike anyone who tries to defend them.

Ukraine reporting hundreds of casualties and Putin has warned if any Countries try to get involved they will be toast. I hate this **** feel for the Ukraine people he needs taking out he’s off his tits.

Tragic, this. Real tired from a bugger of a day, after midnight here, but up glued to watching it unfold via CNN. Fuck you, Putin.
Please God help Ukraine, no one else will.

Belarus forces have now joined Russian forces and crossed the border fucking puppets sanction the fuck out of them too now!! Ukraine military say they have shot down 5 Russian war planes and an attack helicopter.

I'm not contesting the right of countries to join NATO or even suggesting NATO is doing anything wrong. I do think it is not sensible to extend what is a cold war construct up to Moscow's doorstep though.

I understand your point but I feel this is a pretty lame excuse exploited by Putin to bring the Ukraine back under Russian rule.

He's moved now as had the Ukraine joined NATO it would be war. That would have been the deterrent...hence him not trying this on Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. I imagine the Ukraine wanting to join NATO was to avoid this exact scenario.

No idea if in reality there is anything the west can do but fcuk me, surely we're not going to just sit back and watch people die and do nothing.
