That may be, but what we are really talking about is a paranoid psychopath playing Russian Roulette with global safety and the lives of millions of people…some of whom are dying as I type.

So, easy with the “yeah, he’s a bad ‘un, but…”

There is no “but” that follows.

He is that bad of a bad ‘un, we don’t equivocate with traits you might find attractive.

I don’t hang around here for approval from anyone. I’m well aware that this forum as a whole holds different views from my own, and I have no issue holding sensible discussions with reasonable people even where we may disagree. Unfortunately, you’ve shown yourself incapable of such in the past, where you immediately resort to insults.

You’re correct. Right minded people wouldn’t, but you and a few others have shown yourselves for what you are, and that shouldn’t be stopped…only pointed out and derided for what it is.
You go on praising Putin and Hitler and I’ll go on saying they’re bad ‘uns with no equivocation about redeeming traits.

I can live with that. Millions of people didn’t and won’t.

There was always a worry that in the 21st century, nuclear weapons would fall into the hands of a madman.

Unfortunately, we've just had it confirmed.

You would hope that as a minimum, sanctions would include:-

1. Disconnection from the SWIFT financial system
2. Immediate ban on any Russians entering a NATO country.
3. Immediate withdrawal of all western firms from Russia (Ford, Coca-Cola, McDonalds etc.). Don't know how feasible this is.
4. Immediate expulsion of all Russian teams / individuals from any sporting body - and none of this "Russian Olympic Committee" nonsense.

NATO military action would probably be a very bad idea. But who knows what the right thing to do is?

The only wrong thing to do is nothing.

I'm not sure he's daft enough to invade Poland or any NATO countries just yet.

The Ukraine has always been an easy target for him and unfortunately The Ukraine is just a guinea pig to see how much he can get away with.

The Estonia PM has just been on TV and she said there is no military bulid ups on their borders. I think even his closest advisors would be saying it would be madness to invade any NATO member countries now
